LME maintenance tent erection

Well dismal failure today.

Crane person not timely replying (Am assuming they bowed out. I just met em) ... and since am FAST running out of time good weather wise..... took some folks suggestions on what might work alternative to what was planing.. Mostly cause it is faster """if it worked""""

dismal failure... broke the 2x6 spreader bar literally in half and bent slightly the ridge beam/perline of the frame.. Very shocked to have broke the 2x6 being that forces on it were purposefully applied in direction against its greatest inherent strength. (in path up the 6" width at each far end.. as opposed to pulling up its 2inch width at each end.)

Today will be packing up the tarps so they dont fill with rain. This project is over till next June. That's just how the weather works here. Really really really really... needed the out of the weather space under this to could finish engine swap on daily driver; replace alternator on LMTV then start the RV conversion on the LMTV. Such is life.... you win some....... Life's a Beach and all those things.

Well some may remember was going to attempt to keep going by wearing a liquid heated suit. That failed cause could not climb in it. I mean I can climb about anything...... but could not keep the tubes of heated liquid attached to the 24v heater.... w/out back packing it.. makeing much heavier and bulky.

Sooooo new summer..... back at it with a hired hand (barter for 3 VW tdi's)

Don't know if they are members but I saw 923 going down the road two weeks ago. JW4X4 lives on my street out 15 miles and there are a few CUCVs in the area. JW is on the site.

took about 14-16?hours on own over last two days to get second half of cover almost half way on. Cover is just shy of the Ridge Beam/Perlun and strapped / tied all over the place.. AKA- wall and half the roof is sorta up.

and of course..... just looked at weather... heavy rains and thunderstorm predicted starting around 2am till 9am. Guess Ill be outside every half hour or so to push up the cover so water drains and not puddles pulling on things.. otherwise its going to puddle in the loose cover and rip everything; am tied too on the cover, apart from weight.

Fun fun.....

phew... hope it stays like this or better..... seems to be typical here and weather report gets pushed later and later.. Now they are saying 7am rain start and only lasting around three hours

got thru first set of storms. Was not too bad the time I went out to lift up to let water drain. Have LMTV under it so can stand on it to lift cover. Supposedly in an hour another couple hours of rain is coming thru.

I wish..... renting something not financially feasible.

Cover section been working on is now hanging over the frame completely. Came in for some cold water (with a little salt for replacement from sweating) . It occured to me this morning that..... if you HAVE to remove and fix a ripped cover after your whole LME is up... this whole idiocy of how am doing this.... is what you will likely have to do to remove / repair / replace that portion of cover back on frame. So the video's will be here to help you avoid mistakes / know some of the trade secrets for that journey. When that happens..... THROW ME SOME MONEY for the education LOL....

diagrams and photos inconclusive if Vent holes at base of each Cover half end up on opposite sides or same side . Pics/drawings both ways are shown..... inconclusive so skip it

Cover on Ground oriented by above details- All good- ready to hang

Hung- Cover hanging on frame:
"VELCRO !!!!!!! ....... who snuck in this damn velcro???? why didn't I know there was VELCRO

Velcro on each cover do not match this orientation.. now the center where two covers meet will not seal. !@#$%%^ CHECK

Welllll... guess know now what the long covers the frame is stored/transported in will end up being repurposed as in near future a
"Cover Halves Mating Patch"

Hope this does not FUBAR hanging the end doors. Suspect now there is velcro to match there too. .

Ahab is THE MAN

He hit me with a Harpoon.... Ma eyes fell out ..... picked em back up...... put em into the correct Orbits (eye sockets) in ma skull. ..(apparently they were backward before). Appears the velcro always did lines up... it was just my eyes were in da wrong Orbits.
