    Newby with the fever

I think I ran across a CUCV quick reference tech manual the other day. Looking to print and bind it for my trip home tomorrow but search is turning up empty.

    Starting without glow plugs?

That must be how PO stripped the flywheel teeth off the ring gear on the other truck on first start from auction. He claimed he hit the key and WHAM!

    Newby with the fever

Can't help but lust after all the clean trucks up on Goodyear 37" Radials's. 10-4 on replacing the shiny 30amp heater relay. Smoking the starter would suck.

    Southern CUCV Urban Camo M1008

Very nice!!! Just bought my first CUCV and love what you are doing with them. Defiantly cool to see them brought to a condition where folks gawk and lust. 2 questions: 1. For the pattern ~ did you air brush, or maybe use a touch up gun? It looks like great solid coverage but soft edges...

    Starting without glow plugs?

PO lit mine off today with the quickest sniff of start fluid :-? and glow plugs disabled. I'm hoping others will let me know if this is wrong as I'll be starting it on my own in 36 hrs.

Batteries wired up 24v in series

I was there with cell and camera and didn't take any auaauaaua. Lead from front of front battery is going down to starter. Rear lead of front battery connects to front of rear battery. Rear of rear battery connects to ground boss on fire wall. I do not yet have my head wrapped around...

Batteries wired up 24v in series

Drove 50 miles to look at a M1008 this morning. Some one had stolen and cut the batteries out of it. The owner rewired it up best he could but wired it up straight 24v connecting one battery to the other in series. He said currently he could jump start it but it would not start on it's own...

2-yrs old but still great info for those in need. FYI ~ I pulled a civilian diesel suburban radiator and found the trans cooler on the wrong side.
