If you drive the truck regularly the gauges won't do that. My trucks sit and it's normal for the gauges to fog up after the lights have been on for a while. No Worries as long as you can still read them.
Eli,
I'll answer before Swiss see's this, ABSOLUTELY but no CUCV's, Ron really hated those. Even my very nice one, he preferred Big Trucks and your M923A2 would be perfect to drive to the cookout.

Mr. Steve,
I'm ashamed to say that the driver that stuck the LHS is assigned to drive a "SECM" or Contact Maintenance HMMWV for the Recovery Section. He informed the "Trainer" that he thought the hole looked deep but the trainer said "It's locked into 8X8, punch it"! Now you know why you...
I once melted a battery terminal and the culprit was not what I would have expected. It was actually caused by a weak battery in my 2 battery set-up. Member 74M35A2 explained it to me in a very simple for me to understand manner. With healthy batteries (12.8 Open Circuit Voltage), much less...
Power steering fluid, transmission fluid and 10W oil are all very similar in viscosity but have other characteristics that they differ in. Dexron III ATF would be my first choice. I'm sure that more than once one of these trucks had power steering fluid used to top off the system. If you can't...
It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I have a very nice M1028 that sat in a cave in Norway as part of the Marine's PrePositioning program that currently has 9,000 original miles on it. This truck like yours is quite rare and I've offered it up in exchange for a clean M1009...
I picked up member EdMontana's truck this morning. Another rolled out on a gooseneck trailer. If this applies to anyone, Gov Planet Albany is open on Saturday mornings and allow loadouts from 0700 to 1100 currently because of the volume of equipment they have on site.
7 tons (MTVR's) have a CAT C12 as delivered 425 hp and they run 16R20's. They don't notice the meat of the tires, they have more than enough power and could likely be turned up with a simple computer modification / tune.
I went to the Gov Planet yard today to check the condition of the HMMWV that I will be picking up for a member on Saturday. I was informed that the clog in the pipeline has been cleared and they have a lot of HMMWV's to release. Gentlemen, check you e-mails as your trucks are probably...
Geardoc,
Make a trip down and come get your stuff. The local yard manager is easy to work with and will give you a reasonable amount of time to retrieve your items as long as you stay in contact with him. If it's an item you're close to losing, I can go pick it up with my 5 ton. I've got a...
I got good news today, member EdMontana got his release and I'm back in business! I hope to get his truck and 3 others off the base soon. I've got release paperwork for one and I'm ready for more. Just a note, I'm a hobbyist like most on here. Recovering trucks and equipment is not my full...
infedel got me, I have to bow out of my previous commitment to purchase your A/C kit. It is a nice kit and someone will be lucky to get it at such a low price. I've got to fix my Trans Am which ate a cam lobe or lifter in early December and I need to prioritize. For the first time I wish it...
Sir, put me down for that kit tentatively. Is it a standard Sanden compressor? I'll have to see if Simp still has a compressor bracket available but that may be just what I need to roll windows up on hot days in my M939A1.
The only advice I could offer is use a diesel engine oil since they tend to still have Zinc in them in levels above the oils available for gas burning engines. The truck does look nice and I wish you a safe ride home.
