Some people just have nothing usefull to add. I would say a good volt meter as these vehicles and newer ones rely on a good amount of electronics to operate properly.
I have one of the Gen 2 units. That is what the info I posted from Red Dot goes with. Hopefully after the Sussex MTA show I will start opening mine up and start on the install. This thread is chock full of great info for this.
It may be that that pintle hook doesn't have enough clearance on the lunette at all angles. I have never had a problem with my pintle that has a ball incorporated into it. Might be worth switching out to one of those.
I had a good time seeing the familiar faces. Was good to get out of the house to the first show of the year. I have been a few times but have never bought anything. I just take it as chance to catch up with everyone I haven't seen since the Gilbert show in Sept and just have a good time...
Come on we had that HEMTT engine out and in in two hours. Hope this isn't a pattern for you. The rest of the truck looks great. Good luck and let me know when it comes in I will give you a hand getting it going.
You can also get one of these crimp tools. They are pretty cheap and can be found on ebay with a search of rivnut crimper. I just used one to install the rivet nuts in my roof for my aux. lighting. I think I paid $30 for mine.
Just run an equalizer to supply the solenoids with 12 Volts and run the motor on 24 Volts. I have done this all winter so far and have had no problems except that the pump now runs at twice the speed. The motor is large enough and run in such short bursts that it should not create any long...
He also plays Dirty Lyle the sheriff in the movie convoy. Thats where I reconize him from. Awesome looking truck. Glad all went well on the recovery. I hope to have one some day.
Just got off the phone with Red Dot. Hopefully by the end of the day I will have a full parts number list as well as a wiring diagram for this. I will update once I do.
I dont remember the brand if any really. They are cheap ones that I got off ebay. They seem to be very bright and sturdy construction. I guess time will tell how they hold up. I want to say I only have about $200 into all of the lights.
Ok that all sounds legit. Sorry for jumping to conclusions. That much snow and like you said a tight path to push it all sure will put a hurting on anyhting. Awesome that the newer truck got covered under warranty.
Man with all those driveshafts blowing up it sounds like you need to make sure you are completely stopped before banging it into reverse or forward. Not trying to rag on you but I have never seen so many blown up driveshafts doing the same thing.
Nice mounting spot and good idea. I am a bit of a light nut myself. I have added a bunch to my LMTV. Shown here in the red ovals. On the roof I have a 24" on each side then 6" lights on each corner and a 50" bar across the front. At each rear cab corner I have a 4" light mounted to the...
KRedd, Thanks for the info. Eastern Surplus sells the mounts for about half that. I was able to make mine for $260.00 in steel and call it another $50.00 in hardware and about another $40.00 in cutting wheels welding materials and other misc. stuff. So all in all I have a $350.00 into this...
