I did look at doing it that way at first, but at $75.00 each for a 1" shackle I decided to take another approach. At the moment I have more time than money so this is what I came up with. Cost about $30 for the material to make the set.
Nope you didn't. I understand completely, your just looking out for everybody's well being.
Granted the wise crack about towing the deuce with a Geo was kinda out their in left field. It's still kinda funny, but then again my sense of humor is kinda warped.
I'm not surprised that it did...
lol You mean I can't tow it with a Geo Metro?
Sorry I couldn't hep myself.
:grd:
All joking aside worst case scenario I'll go rent a 3 axle Freightliner tractor from Penske truck rental and have my buddy who has a CDl do the driving.
Awesome that's all I needed, thanks for the help.
Just need to know how thick the lifting brackets are on the front of the truck and what size hole they have in them.
Thanks guys I really appreciate the help!
I got the lunette from my local metal yard, here is the company that made it http://buyersproducts.com [thumbzup] You might be able to call them and find a local distributor instead of having one shipped. After thought.... Northern tool might also have them.

Well I was thinking worst case scenario I would go rent a Penske three axle tractor for a day. The website quote was about 160 a day plus mileage.
Thanks for the link, It has some great pics but its not really any help.
At the moment all I need to know is the thickness of the lifting tabs on...
Got a e-mail from Gl the other day telling me that my EUC papers went through for my M35a2. So now I'm working on plan "B" just in case I can't drive it home under its own power.
Main tube material is 2.5x2.5x0.250
Buyers forged weld in lunette ring
tube ends are 2x1 cold rolled steel
The...
I found the Chevy to SAE adapter at my local pull your own part junk yard. It was stashed inside the cab of a late 1950s era medium duty truck. It wasn't off of that truck someone just threw it in the cab. I do know that they used them on the GMC 6000 and 7000 series blg block powered...
I'm with gimpyrobb on the Cad 500. I think you could even bolt it to the stock trans but you would have to stack 2 adapter plates to do it. I have the adapters one is a B.O.P. to chevy bell housing and the other is a chevy to #2 or #3 SAE bell housing. If i can find my camera ill post some...
I realize that that the BTU content of the fuel is around 27% lower that gasoline, not trying to argue that. I'm just trying to point out the fact that the combustion quality would be greatly improved on that engine. Intake manifold designs in that era were less than ideal. Between the fuel...
Driveability Will be better on propane. The hard starting problem is easly fixed with an electric priming valve on the vaporizer. Consistent fuel distribution across all six cylinders will make up for the loss in power as opposed to the gasoline setup. The fuel econmy might even go up because...
LOL. Good to know that I'm not the only one that has gone postal on this site. Oh By the way they have a nasty habit of breaking the driver side rear main leaf in the spring pack. That has the Audi engine in it right? They had some really odd engines in them in the later years....
Mine was...
Sorry, I didn't mean to be so vague. I was thinking of the Auto-Klean Series filters. They are similar to the WEBB filters that kentuckycucv was talking about. Check out the pdf @ http://www.cuno.com/library/LITHSAKDDS.pdf The cool part is you can clean it while it is online. Just turn the...
Is this what you had in mind for fuel valves? They make a 4 port version also.
Have you ever considered using a Oberg or Cuno type filter as your primary? It's easy to clean on the side of the road if needed and their is nothing hazardous to dispose of. Might be a good way to protect your...
Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, CA It's about 120 miles from my place. Yeah, I have heard some of the stories about GL and the EUC process. It was either buy it form GL or Hundy and I was in a gambling mood.[thumbzup]

Signed up a little while back but haven't posted anything till now. Mainly to check out the tech articles.
I just bought a m35a2 from GL and am currently waiting for the EUC paperwork to go through. The only other military vehicle I own is a M422a1 that is a major basket case at the moment...
