It's is alot of work, but when you are done, you are gonna love it. I don't now how to make a direct link, but if you do a search for "Extreme Expedition Vehicle here on SS, you will see some pics of our M35A2 we did (that's Army Bob on my avatar)
The best thing I can say is built it using...
Ya Baby! Hold me back! Nice grin!
Seriously, would any of you be interested in a kit that has all the bits and pieces (including the glass) for you to do your own one piece? Let me know! If there is enough interest, we'll see what we can do......
(I appreciate all you guys and...
OOPs! How'd I do that?? I could've sworn that was the windshield pic..!!
Well, no woman can say she doesn't check out a fine male form. We are just more subtle about it. Of course a fine male form in a fine MV is even better!
Here's a shot of Army Bob in action in the Sierra Nevada...
After we got caught in a rain storm and got drenched, the Mr. decided to get rid of the stock windshields. Our local glass shop - who like the rest of us doesn't have a lot going on - jumped at the chance to make us a one-piece. It increases your visibility and you have no worries about...
Country Financial Ins didn't even bat an eye when I told them what we bought, and they don't care if it is inside. It is basic coverage, no replacement or collision.
Just wanted to thank all of you who took the time and effort to put on this event. It was the first one we have been too, and we had a blast! Met tons of new people, saw some cool vehicles, sold some junk - I mean good stuff - and bought some too (good stuff that is). We are looking forward to...
Hi Zout! We thought about the boot from a semi, but decided to make our own - just using the same principle.
We did use another M35A tank that we bought from a buddy for next-to-nothing and just used a cross over tube.
$40,000 ???!!! Dude! Good for you! Can't wait for pics! Is this just the good old cargo M35 truck or do you have camper on it or do you haul a trailer. What do you sleep in? We are way past tents and sleeping on the ground. As you can see from my avatar, we made our own RV for our truck...
Well, Iron Horse train guy, it's pretty darn easy. Cut the holes in both the box and the cab (PLEASE make sure they line up!!!). Frame both sides with sq tubing, making sure that there is a minimum of 3 inches between the box and the cab. We attached a 1/8" x 6" flat piece of steel, screwed...
Hi M920! The ladder is surprisingly light but not light enough for a decrepit old lady like me so we attached a helper spring that assists with the up and down. The spring is actually made to help with raising and lower the drop down trailer door/ramps (like on an enclosed car trailer). It...
Check a couple pages back on this post and you will see the pics that show it is completely done on the inside like an RV. Very comfy and very efficient.
Thanks everyone for the compliments, we do appreciate it.
It's real hard to give you a cost on the build because we were able to get used parts for free, others at reduced rates and plus the steel we used was leftover from other jobs, so that was basically paid for. Plus we would be giving...
Those high $$$ rigs are nice, very nice, too nice. We have taken "Army Bob" all over the place and have scratched the heck out of the paint but we wear those scratches like badges of honor. When you pay soooooo much money for one of those, I can imagine the look of horror when you hear that...
