I think you'll be happier putting it on a flat trailer. A friend of mine volunteered his 7.3 turbo diesel rig to tow mine. Keep in mind the trailer weight as well as the truck you'll be loading.
Hi slantflat , I recently did the same thing but used a flat trailer. what condition are the tires in? If the tires look like they are dry and cracking, I would be cautious. What will you be using to tow it?
i could be mistaken, but i believe they make a block off plate specifically for that location on the firewall. its usually used when deleting a heater core or retrofitting an under dash climate control system.
