So l was looking into the specs for the DN4M/LPW4 engine, it has a continuous power rating of 17 KW at 1800 rpm. So that got me to thinking that I could put an -804 gen head on the machine and still be under the engines continuous power rating.
Thoughts?
Nice job on the troubleshooting. On another note, how do you like the Inova remote start module? I have been thinking about getting one to make it easier for SWMBO to start the machine when I am working nights and the power goes out.
Transfer switch arrived yesterday and electrical permit has already been approved. Plan to get this done on my day off Monday.
Then it will be time to find a tank to use for aux fuel system, and start working on the Arduino monitoring setup.
So I went to the town hall today and filed the application for the electrical permit. I am looking at using this panel as a transfer switch:

It will be fed from a 60 amp double pole breaker on...
Now that I have my -803 up and running, I am looking at wiring it up and installing an aux fuel tank. My unit did not come with the aux fuel hose, so I am looking for information on fitting type, etc.
Additionally, do I need a return from the unit to the aux tank, or does the return just go...
With all the work you've done to this point, why take a chance on an iffy repair to a leaky well nut. Good to hear that you're waiting for the part.
I had to replace the well nut on my -803, PITA to get the fuel tank out to do it.
That makes sense. I'm seriously thinking about selling this one and upgrading to an -804A so I can be sipping bourbon while sitting in the hot tub during a snowstorm power outage.
The rest of the loads include electric oven and dryer, 3 heat pumps, well pump, 1 dual zone split HVAC system, two...
Holy smokes, prices have gone up quite a bit when I picked mine up for $3800 back in February, and SWMBO gave me a load of grief on that amount. That said, I likely would've paid what you paid to end up with a unit in the condition it's in.
Reason I ask is a woman at work is showing interest in...
Well I start back on nights tonight so getting this beast connected up to the house will have to wait until next week. I need to go to the town hall and pull a permit also.
Once that is finished I will get to work on the Arduino based monitor discussed in post #21 of this thread...
