I called the manufacture today and he reassured me that 8 full turns of thread engagement is fine for his spacers.
I looked on internet to find that he was right... for a 9/16 stud they want 8 turns... i have 9 turns before doing a final torque so i am going to...

Bad plugs I heard of/seen on these cucv's were failed "open" none swollen yet... what kind of issue would allow them to melt?

my clan of cucv owners have all done the 12v glow plug resistor bypass. My brother started the bypass band wagon after frying 8 new glow plugs when his resistor crapped out.
4 Upstate NY and 1 DE daily drivers have been modified since Oct 09 or so, no issues to date.

May be tring to cover up a ruff idle... injectors or pump issue.
If you are serious when you go back to buy it tell him not to touch it. If it is nice and cold you should be able to see the wait light, set the cold start solenoid and watch your glow plugs cycle through your volt meter then...

Yes this is a tragedy. This vehicle left my garage after rockers, door bottoms, gate repair, paint and more.... my buddy got back from a deployment drove his "new" truck about 4 times and a family member did this for him... talk about a heart...
Anyone ever cut the front window & " Frame " out of one vehicle and weld into a wreck job like this?

My set up looked just like the pics of tlm47201 I almost think this is the thread I built them after.
I bought the tubes at Harbor Freight and am now wondering if the are 2.25" or 2". If I recall the issue correctly the lift tubes are taller then they are wide. Maybe bad machining on my part...
