I agree with you. It is alot of weight. Not the most I've had on. My verified record is 56,400lbs, that's hooked to the fifth wheel. That truck has(and continues to) do things it was not built for. I'm slow taking off, but I get her up to speed. Around 50 is tops for moving the excavator...
2 things....The truck with singles looks like like it could use a bath on the underside......That your ole lady in the pcikup? Looks like she's having fun...lol
To check your starter without taking it out. Make sure the truck is out of gear and brake on. Using whatever works for you cross the posts on the end of the starter. If your starter is truly bad not much will happen but some sparks. If it's good you'll get some sparks and the starter will...
Yeah, I'd check that. What I like to do is have someone else run the starter so I can sit right there and eyeball each valve. Then if I have to take the rockers off I like to run right down the line of valves. Tapping each one and spraying WD-40 down the stem. That way it gets them loosened...
Sounds like I'm not the only one trying to get a beast running. Though you have a bigger one. Mine is only an M52A2. At least you're getting return on the fuel I'm not getting that yet. Since it won't fire even with ether. How long has it been sitting? Chance the valves are stuck. Had...
RE: Filling the gas tank of a M211 - Do I need lead additive
Your call. Of all the ones I've had, around 20 of them(still have M135) I never added it. It wouldn't hurt to give it to the engine. I never experienced any problems though.
Not really. The only REAL problem would be the cable. What's in the cab can be loosened up by working it and spraying it. Same with the back of the transfer case. Not to bad to do. The worst you'd have to do is change the cable if it doesn't free up. That's not too bad either. Just takes...
Myself...I would not rely on the parking brake only in that situation. Depends on the grade. Empty maybe.
Just the same after you get it working play with it and see what it'll do. Better to test it and know what to expect. If you think the cable is froze spray some WD-40 or whatever in the...
After that....if the cable has a grease fitting(some do, some don't) grease the hel_ out of it. If it doesn't spray some on the cable ends and keep working it. Also wouldn't hurt to spray some WD-40 on the joints of the brake lever in the cab. Plus grease the parking braking system on the...
Bo,
Wish you were closer. I have SF-97's that have been laying around for years. When I want to get a title all I do is go to the Notary, pay the $22.50 title fee, $20 Notary fee, and want ever the tax is and that's it. No hassles. No bending the rules. If no one else(especially you...
Sometime I'll post pics of my trucks at work.....Whether that be an M35A2 with 21K of stone in the bed. nee-M275A2 pulling a 28K excavator or 44K Gradall; M52A2 pulling an 80K Komatsu PC400. Or like I did today the M275A2 hauling a 44K load of scrap in to be recycled. I put them to work daily...
Marshall, Keep buying trucks. You can never have to many. As time goes by you will learn to get creative as to how to justify or explain WHY you need another one.
RE: m35a2 won
I was posting while you were there Bassariscus. So...after checking ALL your connections you can try what I posted above. However with your second posting I'd say you have a bad connection.
RE: m35a2 won
If you are sure all the connections are good. Did you loosen, wiggle and retighten them? Then here is something far off in left field to try. Turn your switch on. Hit the starter button. If nothing happens. Using your left hand reach down behind the dash to the plug behind...
I'd have fun "verifying" a truck. Part of what I do is reassemble parts trucks into a useable one. Then I sell them to local quarries and the like. More then one truck went out with only a bill of sale during the "No SF97 provided" period. Being used off-road so that was good enough. While...
