SW, I am fairly new to the MV owner world. I got my truck last Oct from WP (purchased in July, long EUC wait). My wife says I missed my Army toys after I retired from the USAR.

I have put in my vacation request at work so I can make it this year. Gimp showed me the pics from last year, looks like a blast. Will be bringing the M818.
That was a blast yesterday, great to see everyone who made it out. They had actually had scales that Gimp's and my trucks would fit on. The 818 came in a 19400, and the wrecker came in around 33000 lbs. That weight difference made became obvious when trying to pull him.
Gimp, I don't think I'll have a chance against the wrecker with my 818, but I'll give it a shot. The guy running the event said they was someone bringing a big logging truck for the unlimited weight class.
Anyone else around Ohio plan on bringing a truck?
There is an event next weekend, 20 November at Kil-Kare raceway in Xenia Ohio. It a tug a truck event, with different weight classes for competition. There is an unlimited weight class that the MV's can compete in and are welcomed by the event organizer.
Welcome to Kil-Kare.com for the track's...
I just wanted to say I had a great time this weekend at the parade. It was nice to get out and meet some of the folks from here, and put a few miles on my new truck. It is a bouncy ride on I75 though :)
I'm planning on making the trip down from Dayton. I just picked my truck up last week from WP, and am doing my PMCS to make sure it's road worthy. Trying to get the batteries to charge is my biggest task now. It is going to be a chilly weekend.
Thanks all. The truck is a depot rebuild from 2002, it only has 1700 miles on it now. A couple of issues since it has been sitting for a while, loose airline, bad batteries, and the parking brake nut came off that holds the cable at the end. I have pulled off the 5th wheel and ramps as I am...
After many days of waiting for my EUC to clear, I finally got to pick um my M818 from Wright Patt last Thursday. Along with the truck, 2 105 trailers. I have had a blast driving this weekend. Andrew from GL at WPAFB is great to work with.
I have two that have lasted in our drag cars for over 6 years. This is without a good charging system (it's hard to get a charge running an eighth mile at time) and lots of time on a charger. The batteries get a lot of abuse each run, starting, electric water pump, fan, fuel pump, MSD ignition...
I concur with the others, Andrew at WPAFB is very good to deal with. He is a prior Army mechanic and actually knows the equipment. If my EUC's ever clear, I can't wait to get my M818 and M105's home (my first MV purchases).
Soni, if you bring your 920 up to pick up your trailer, let me know...
I got to preview most of the trucks at WPAFB on Friday, they seem really nice. I wouldn't mind having one. All of them seemed to have some small issues, needing paint on the step by the battery boxes, a few are missing mud flaps, some are missing the the top of the stacks. Paint is good on all...
I briefly looked at one of them a couple of weeks ago before they went up for auction. The truck looked good. I am going to go over and do a better inspection soon, maybe today or Monday. I live about 5 miles from DRMO at Wright Patt. I drove the 818’s some before I retired from the Army...
