What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Fyi, the factory roof pads are designed with fire resistance in mind. You dont want molten plastic raining on your head if theres a fire.

Sound deadening, sound proofing - which have you done and what are your results?

No issues with the horse stall mats because its not that tight of a fit, the water finds its way around it and out the drain holes.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

They are factory roof pads, got them from Mac Motors. They are some sort of fabric covered foam.

Mark your line with marker. Bend the mat away from the line. Cut the line with a sharp utility knife. It will go through in a couple of passes. It helps to put some grease on the blade.

Sound deadening, sound proofing - which have you done and what are your results?

I used kilmat inside the doghouse (between the fiberglass and the heat shield) and 1" thick horse stall mats on the tunnel and floor. While you can do much, much more than this, it still made a pretty good difference. You can hold a conversation without needing the intercom system, and the...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

You have to just be patient and search ebay, facebook, etc. Usually cheaper to piece it together, but requires much more patience and knowledge. You can also post WTB on the classifieds here or on facebook. Just be careful of scammers.

    Hard vs soft......doors

I went from soft doors to hard doors. I didn't gain anything from the hard doors except for cool factor, which was worth it 😎

    Keeping the Humvee Running Cool

I would not mess with your truck unless its overheating. In which case, I would fix whatever is broken, rather than implement some sort of aftermarket mod. Just my opinion.

Youtube video with some good Yermo footage

Meh, I'm happy to see young americans doing fun stuff without breaking any laws, swearing, or being confused about their gender. We need more people doing stuff like this. If you watch their other videos they all (except for maybe the camera guy) take part in all kinds of custom fabrication...

    Keyed Switch

Someone designed a mechanical keyed switch which adapts to the existing starter switch. Its supposed to retain the reliability of the OEM switch while still utilizing a key. Unfortunately I can't seem to find a link, but I remember seeing it on a Facebook group. Otherwise, just go with a hidden...

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Got about 1000 pounds of play sand and mulch, amazing how the ECV springs work when there is actually some weight on them!

    Seat belts

The regular 3 point type seatbelts are availalble at MAC motors for cheap. Whatever you buy, dont get aftermarket chinese crap.

    Universal X door/Soft Door Stryker

Maybe I'm missing something, but why would you want to regularly switch between hard doors and soft doors?

    Gunner seat belt removal

You want to remove the whole plate, although if I remember correctly there *might* be one allen head screw underneath the seatbelt retractor. -Use lots of penetrating oil -Use a quality allen bit on a rachet wrench for more leverage -Clean the head of the allen screws to ensure that your allen...
