Bose headsets are amazing. They sure are pricey though. I was planning on hooking an aux input to mine, until I realized my phone doesnt have a headphone output! Gonna have to go bluetooth...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Nice! I dont know anything about Sigtronics. I was drawn to the PS Engineering because I'm familiar with them from aviation. They are incredibly capable and affordable, with very good sound quality. I got this unit used on ebay for around $130. It will do 4 positions, and supports connection to...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Don't have great pics, but installed a PS Engineering PM1000 II intercom with some David Clark headsets. Now I just need to hook it up to the mobile radio, and later add bluetooth.

    Wiring Question on M1165

    Thanks for clarifying, makes sense.

    Wiring Question on M1165

Is 70A the input or output? The fuse should be about 1.2 times the max current draw of the device, and the wire should be sized for the fuse. So assuming 70A is the input current, you're looking at around a 90A fuse and 4AWG wire minimum.

    Recommended tire pressure

Just keep in mind these wheels are tires are designed to have runflats installed which keep the bead on. If you go without runflats and have low tire pressure you could lose a bead.

    Wiring Question on M1165

Yeah amps is not total power, that would be watts. Houses with 100A panels are 240V which is 10x what a humvee is. However, amps is what burns up wires and causes fires, so dont think its not a big deal only being 24V vs 240V. That being said, I agree 52A seems pretty high for windows. It...

    Wiring Question on M1165

Yes, consider the fact that you can link two 12v batteries in series to make a functional welder, that will tell you what you're dealing with.

    Wiring Question on M1165

Also make sure the wire gauge is sufficient for whatever fuse you are using. There are charts you can look it up.

Or you can take the lazy way like me and cut off the top of your fan shroud. 😮

    Stuck Fan Clutch

Screws are regular RH threads (lefty loosy righty tighty). I used a combination of an impact gun and a hex bit on a ratchet wrench to get them loose. If I recall correctly a regular hex bit was too short so I had to make one by cutting down an allen wrench and attaching it to a hex socket...

    Stuck Fan Clutch

Last 2 clutches I tried needed a little more than 90 PSI. Edit: just re-read your post, the clutch should DIS-engage when you apply pressure. It should be engaged when pressure is released.

Yep, you can winch the truck backwards with a front mounted winch if you have a pulley. Several youtube videos on this.

M998 STUCK IN THE MUD, FRONT WHEELS NOT EVEN ROTATING

Humvees are plenty capable, but it sounds like maybe you have an issue with yours. Also deep mud is tough for any vehicle even a tank. I would stop making it worse by digging in deeper and start a recovery. Get a winch and/or a second vehicle, you will need that at a minimum. "Mud halfway up the...
