lacoda56,
Yep that's what it is. A good old J5. The pic was taken a few years ago when I had just bought this place. I wasn't ready to move in. But the people who bought my old place said I had to move "out". So that day I had a pile of things sitting on my doorstep. Still haven't done...
Here's a 1964 Sicard "tractor" plow and a unknown year(dealer has it nailed down to '97 or'98 ) John Deere 120 excavator. Yes both were originally yellow then painted OD green. The Sicard came from Fort Drum, NY and the John Deere from Holloman AFB, NM They both were great when I first got...
Yeah, give me a day or so and I'll put a few pics on of the thing. Then If anyone wants I can give some dimensions. As I recall about 13-14 years ago I pulled a modified M135 that was a tractor(M221,215?) that was hooked to a 40ft flatbed trailer that had an International TD-340 dozer on it...
RE: Re: RE: Borrow a tow bar for a weekend ?
Hey if any one wants. I'll take pics of mine. I made mine 15-20 years ago for about $30. Ring in the front. Two pieces of square tubing. Four pieces of flat steel bent on the ends to hook on the towed truck where the clevises go. One piece of...
If I can find the guys number.....I know a guy that has three M135's/M211's and alot of parts. He's near Olean, NY. Or I have an M35a2 bed I could part with. Let me know.
Also, some M109's the tail lights are mounted on the body. If so you'd have to get the mounts to put them on the frame. Watch that pioneer rack when you're putting the bed back on. The spare tire mount can be a problem sometimes.
Kenneth,
It is a straight unbolt and bolt job. Pick the shop van body off and put the cargo bed back on. The ONLY thing that I have encountered is on some trucks the wood rails that are between the shop body and the truck frame ARE thicker on M109's than are on M35's. You can still use them...
That whole EUC thing is funny. This last summer I got a parts truck(M35A2C) from Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton. EUC cleared I called scheduled pick-up. Went and got it. About a month later I got an email letting me know that my photo wasn't good enough. If I wanted the truck to be released...
The truck has seen alot of use. It has assorted issues. Every now and then I try to track down different problems. Yeah I can get pumps. Shoot a few weeks ago I sold one to a guy up in Mass for $30 plus $10 to ship it.
Currently I have about 20 parts trucks sitting all over the place. There...
RE: Re: RE: Fuel Pressures | Lack of Power Issue
Just as an easy check. Is your in tank pump working? I have one that kills every pump I put in it. It has the same perfromance as you describe. On the low end it does it all, starts right up, runs fine, top end forget about it. Side note...
Like Marti says. Heat is a real killer for these trannys. If you want to...Take the whole bottom pan off the tranny. While that's off do what Marti said and now you can get any gunk that is laying there from inside the tranny. Also I thought about it. Have you tried pulling any weight while...
I'll go with Lee's post above. If you want to play it safe that's the way to do it. I've never done it, and I've never had any trouble. But you never know what may be going on inside. Everyone has their way of doing it.
I have all flavors. Never notice any real difference between them. With one exception I used them all for work. Not that I am out to destroy them, but stuff happens when they're used. My one converted M35A2(now a wanna be M275A2) pulls 40K almost daily. Never any problems. This one has a...
A couple of my trucks have on the oil cans a label saying that the compensator was disabled and to use only diesel. How's this for upgrade? My 1952 Reo M109 has...1c turbo, air shift, spring ride, stickers still on the cab, hood, doors from being installed(they're basically brand new). The...
RE: Shift-less
Never. I check to make sure the oils are right in the axles and transfer case. Put the transfer in nuetral and go. I brought an M35A2C back from Wright-Patterson 3 months ago. Then 2 weeks ago brought back an M35A2 from Urbana(almost to Dayton). From my place to...
RE: Shift-less
I've flat-towed more 6x6's than what I can think of. Using my 275A2 I have a long wire that plugs into the trailer eletrics(12 volt), (I have a 12 volt and 24 volt cable) I zip tie it all the way back to the end of the towed truck, have two lights I vise-grip on. I have a tow...
RE: M543A2 signals and breaks.
One of my M35's is like that. Same thing. I went through everything. Still does it. You never know when they're gonna work or not. I think it is a wire somewhere and just can't find it.
