Funny how time flies, huh? When I picked up my M1008 almost 2 years ago, I fully intended on being done with it by now, and showing off my own build thread. Well here we are. I'm still in progress, but figured now is as good a time as any, so sit back and enjoy. :popcorn:

I'll lay this one out as quick and easy as possible. Two weeks ago replaced the starter and did the doghead relay mod. Replaced some fusable links. Truck fired right up. Then it got harder and harder to start (used to fire RIGHT up). Put a 4" lift on the truck in the garage, went to start it up...

Okay. Long and short of it is I was starting my m1008 on fourth of july evening and heard a distinct metal on metal grinding. Let off the key and the starter kept going, and the metal sound got worse. Pulled keys out, popped the hood and poof went the smoke. I burned thru the battery post...
