So when the intermittent function isn't working do the low and high work? I hadn't thought about the plug being an issue since they work. I actually replaced the motor again over the weekend and cleaned all the connections good and even used dielectric grease on all the connections under...
I was wondering if the intermittent wipers work with the original wiper motor. I swapped my column out and everything works, except for the intermittent wipers. I pulled the control box and on one side are the 5 pins on the other 7 pins from the column. I ohmed the box and the 5 that go...
Thought I'd see how your Bosch plugs have held up. I've had mine in for about the same amount of time. I checked them a couple of weeks ago and they ranged from 1.1 to 1.8 ohms. I had done the resistor bypass before I put these plugs in. I was curious what kind of resistance values you guys...
Hopefully all that happened is that you burned one or more of the fusible link wires. The TM's are on the site to download. In them you'll find wiring schematics and lots more info on the vehicles. The fusible link wire is a wire that's a smaller gauge than the other "regular" wire that will...
I had the cable fray at the IP guide awhile back. It kept pulling tighter as I went down the road til I was on the brakes hard at 60. Common sense said shut it down but the other voice said you're only another mile from home. So I rode it out, maybe not the smartest thing but it all worked...
On the IP there are a couple of unthreaded bolt holes, one below the passenger side nut and one slightly above it. If I remember right they were 3/8" You can use a pliers to put a bolt in each hole. Find bolts that are short enough to stay in the holes but long enough to be able to use. Then...
Can you tell which end it's coming from? It may just be a coincidence with the engine swap. You may want to take off the rear drums and check and make sure everything is as it should be. Awhile back I had the springs on the passenger side rear, break and it made the dangest noises whenever...
I don't use the large nozzle if I can help it. The high volume and my tank don't work well together, foaming is really bad. As far as a lockable cap, in a larger populated area I'd use one. But here in my area, you can still leave your keys in the ignition overnight and not worry about it...
I agree the short trips are not good overall on any vehicle. Short trips and having the plugs on the 12 volt only, is harder to keep a full charge (imo). My son ended up killing the front battery about a month ago. So I put the 24 volt back into service along with a voltmeter on the load side...
I'm in the same boat. I'm getting 14-16 mpg on my normal 8 miles to work. Every now and then I'll go 20-25 miles on a trip but the mpg stays the same. I don't have any dripping from the ip but it does look damp under the intake on the pump. I want to try tightening those connections up...
You didn't say if the fuel lines are metal or rubber. Maybe you've got a fuel line kinked or collapsing when you're under power. Fuel filter makes sense too.
I got switched power from the fuse panel and ran a wire thru a grommet to the "diamond" for my always on power. I used a 7 foot radio shak cb whip antenna with an adaptor from the cb end to the regular radio antenna plug. It really pulls in the stations.
Wow! Apparently I have something harder to come by than what I realized! I appreciate the input, it will not be going to the shredder and be going into this one next spring. I've got a leak in my transfer case now that my son says he'll look at in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully it's an...
Just curious Speddmon, do you think the swap was worth it? Been reading on here on it and the opinions vary. I have an 86 civvy K5 with one that's sitting behind a 6.2. The tranny, transfer case and front end are the only things left worth a hoot in it. To get it out of the yard it may be...
There was one in my area awhile back that I looked at. Terrible rust, the underneath was coated in fluids, interior alright not great, 60000 miles, decent tires, newer front and rear end. I would of bought it for the tires and ends but he wouldn't budge from 2800.00. Good luck with your...
Just because you hear the click doesn't mean it's working. I speak from experience. If you have the suggested relay from Napa, reach up there and see if you can wiggle any of the posts. I had a witch of a time figuring out my issue. Turn the key and the loud click, but no joy. Repeatedly...
It has been explained to me that it is not actually magic smoke that escapes when something electrical ceases to function properly. When something expires, regardless from natural causes or having been murdered. What you see is actually it's spirit being released.
I just thought I would share...
True. But my wires were broke off flush in the back. I didn't want to take a chance of heating up the board/wire too much and hurt the board. That's why the pencil soldering gun was used to get rid of some of the solder.
I couldn't find anything on the topic so I decided to give it a try. This is from a 84 M1009 and dealing with a rear black out light. It was one with three wires to it. I thought of showing how I did it about half way thru the process, so that's when I started taking pictures.
