Keeping it simple is great. But I can't get my mushroom off by hand and finding my little wrench plus opening the hood with a WOT engine does not sound like fun. Something quick and effective is the goal. I enjoy fabrication and a little work beforehand does not bother me. Do you just put the...
Two of the most fun things you can do with a duece. No brakes and a runaway engine. Well unless you count the third, putting a duece on its side...
I see a few options here. The object is to kill the engine as fast as possible right? Since the fuel is coming from a secondary source...
The duece power bleeder is the cats meow. I just made a duplicate DOT 3 bleeder with a aluminum block master cylinder cover for civi applications. I was so impressed with the first bleeder I had to make another for dot 3 fluid.
The duece power bleeder is definately worth the time to...
I know this will only work with a bare wheel. I made this for a m416 resto. It is a 1K lazy susan under a 16 inch round plywood. The top rollers are 1/2 inch rod through sealed bearings screw clamped to a little angle frame. So it rolls horizontally and vertically. I intended to use it in a bead...
It's actually quite a hoot! The spectators seem to love it. There is some high performance stuff there also. I have an LDS motor sitting here. It would be interesting to see what the improvement would be. I don't think I made it past 48 miles an hour in the 6 runs I did. And I had an older...
The date for the truck drags I mentioned at woodburn drag strip are August 4th. I hope to go and it would be cool to race another military truck. Last time I went I got 6 passes down the 1/4 mile track up against logging trucks. It was odd to say the least.
I am happy to say that my...
Liz and I had a great time. It was nice to get the truck out and meet some new people.
Thanks guys for helping me with my winch. Look$ like a broken PTO.
I used to bonce on the cheater bar a few times. Several pops later I figured it was tight. Well they were.:jumpin: I should correct my post. I use a 3 foot bar and go for the first pop and then give it one more for a second one. A lot les than I used to do. I just marked all my nuts with a...
I beg to differ. I am not sure why my lug studs broke other than over tightening. I used a 5 foot bar and bounced several times till I heard the "crack" or pop on each one. Usually at least two pops. I weigh 180.
I have shortened my cheater bar to 3 foot and will stop at one good report...
There is a guy named Sean down in Milwaukee OR (southern suburb of PDX) that has done several for people. He is doing a crew cab etc. He just had some surgery on his arm but you could give him a call. I'll PM you his number.
He can be found on craigs list locally.
Thanks. That is really great feedback. I had the same troubles pouring all my wmo into 5 gallon buckets for storing till I could deal with it. The water was a PITA. Plus I can say that 4-5 mouse carcasses will liquify and definately clog your funnel. Seriously nasty. I have not tried the...
This is my rough mock up. I've been persuaded to use the bigger tank. It needs a pile of work. Brackets cut off, clean up, new bungs welded in, mounts, green paint, etc. The smaller tank is behind it.
I am using an old wooden cable spool stand. A drip pan fits well under it all.
I can only...
I am still mocking up my set up. All the parts are in a milk crate. I have had to work on must do projects instead of want to do projects. And the snow falls again... Time to go clear off the duece (again). I should have something done inside of six months. (JK):D
I'm trying to decide...
I have found that a meduim sized super magnet can sometimes remove a metal sliver from an eye. Find the most powerful magnet you can and rotate it in small circles around the sliver. Sometimes it will come out and save you a trip to the ER let alone the pain of carving up your eyelid.
