Yes, it was a GSA truck. The red you see is actually an orange-red. I was actually thinking a repaint in a lime color... We'll see though. Orange-red and white is OK for now. Mechanical is priority to body, at the moment. As I said, it was worth waiting for. I have watched worse trucks sell for...
Just thought I'd post up some pics of my latest recovery. I have been looking for one of these for a few years now, and it's been hit-and-miss. I looked at a lot of really rusted trucks, before I found this one. (I can't believe how easily the cowl area on these trucks deteriorates!) Anyhow, my...
Actually, if anyone has a use for them, I would be more than happy to get them out of my yard. If you provide shipping accomodations, (i.e., you come get them out of my yard), someone may have them for free. I'm in NW PA, - PM me with your interest.
What are these? My guess is that they are CUCV pickup troop seats? This is only because an item I purchased had them in the bed. (and it wasn't a CUCV.) Do they have any value in the condition they are in?
Allright, I know a carbuerator goes here, but is it a Ball & Ball carbuerator? Was there more than one option for carbueration on this truck? The linkages are shown in the pic as well. What all pieces should I be looking for to install a carb? Sorry, but I have never seen a carbuerator on this...
Appears to be some kind of trailer cargo box. It has a rounded top, and a hinged one piece door with a twist handle on one end. What's the nomenclature? Ideas?
As much as I do genuinely love wildland fire, I am glad I am not in your situation with the drought. Perhaps we could work out a trade, with some Texas heat for some PA snow? And for gosh sakes, stay safe out there. Even when we do get woods fire, our asbestos forests just don't burn like that.
Which is EXACTLY WHY I haven't picked up my OWN deuce!!
Oh, wait.. I think it's because I already have too many other irons in the fire.
Allwell, I can dream! (fights the urge to buy an M35... :( )
Sorry all, its been a while since Iv'e visited my thread.
JeepMan- Where at in upstate NY? I'm always looking for 715's. PM me if ya wanna share :)
WolfDose- Yes, it was a fire rig. It was a brush unit with a fire company which I am still trying to research. The Forest Service loans Federal...
I think that front lightbar is a Whelen. The corner strobes *might* be too. I also think that the cast aluminum siren speakers u r missing are made by CPI. That is a good looking rig. I am glad that you are leaving it as an ambulance.. few ppl do that anymore.
