PA - Spring 2014 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

No problem in a CUCV. We generally stick to the green trails. There are obstacles you can play on along the way, big rocks and windshield deep mud, but we run trails that allow everyone to ride along. We hit some blues from time to time. We have had wreckers, M109 box trucks and a LWB M36...

    Unimog 404 or Deuce?

They are both military trucks, but they are a lot different. The mog is a good bit smaller, half the weight, more nimble suspension and better wheeling off road. The deuce is a lot more common, more tech and parts support, more cargo capacity and another axle. Condition being equal, the mog...

Detroit makes a locker $500 or so. I think Spartan makes one as well.

As a fellow jeeper, you are welcome to bring it. We often have civy trucks in the mix. Some of the hardcore purists (those without nice jeeps) might scoff, but who cares. There is always a good collection of military trucks, many with cool mods.

    New member from Central Pa.

Welcome. There are tons of posts on this issue, many say buy from GL and drive it without a title or registration. Others get them delivered and sort out the paperwork after. Buying from GL can get you a good deal or a basket case, either preview or roll the dice. We are having a rally at...

The camping area is directly adjacent to the gravel parking lot, you will have no problem with a 2wd truck, or a minivan for that matter.

PA - Spring 2014 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

We have it good, but when I hear about millions of acres with public access out west like Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and Cali, I wish that we had had more public access in PA. Within 30 minutes of Rausch Creek, there is 6500 acres soon to be opened as a new off road park by AOAA (I have been...

Shenkman has a link in the first post. There is a $15 annual membership and then a fee for passengers or drivers. They waive the passenger fee when you first get a membership.

    Picked up a 923A2 yesterday

Good to hear from you Tom. Hope the new job is going well, quite a move. I took the 931 to RC in October and had a good time. Planning on taking the mog in the spring. I need to wait to register this one until next January as a 1990.

I want to use a thread in block heater, it looks like all of the C series motors use the same block heater, 6CTA, ISC or QSC.

    Picked up a 923A2 yesterday

I got it with Shenkman yesterday at Ft Indiantown Gap. It had really dead batteries, like 3 volts each and the alternator would not charge. We had to wire the fuel solenoid open. It ran good on the way home. It seems to have the same power as my 931A1. I need to sort out the alternator...
