Clarification/ edit
I -think- yours is same as mine, twin M73's w/two matching gimbles. I believe the designation is M706E1. Here is the stamping on turret, looking down, front of mantlet. To mount a 50 someone probably welded your support plate (that a fork bracket can bolt to). I have a pic...
Some rambling thoughts-
IMO piston coolers are more important if you run high EGT's and for long duration.
My NHC250 with a N16 turbo makes 18 psi at 2100 (20 button and 225 psi fuel rail). I have no intercooler so my charge temp is higher than a nat aspired version (maybe 220*F max). I have...
FYI The stock brake linings are semi-metallic. The might have choosen them because they work better when wet, like after swimming. The manual shows the rear brake cyl is 1-3/8" while the fronts are 1-1/2". I might be wrong but I thought the deuce used 1-1/2" frt and rear.
If there was a beater theme contest I'd beat you every time.
Here are 2, pick the one you like (or don't like).
Photo 1 is my hacked 105 after an Indiana to NY road trip.
Photo 2 same trailer back around 1992, my first MV. Note the combat wheel and 1100 x 20's. Data plate said Clarke circa...
A Stalwart owner has an extensive collection of hammers. A 5 ton owner needs only one.
Tony (Milwaukee) had a nice one. Years ago he had it up for sale, maybe $30K (?). I figure it was transferred long ago. Here is a great photo of it.
BTW, the Stalwart is a 5 ton (5 metric tons land/ 4 marine)
Pic-27 and 22 buttons. Very small shallow depressions in center of each hole.
I put a N16 turbo on a stock nat aspirated no intercooler NHC250 (#27 button). Made 15 psi @2100 with rather small increase in power. Changed to #20 button. Noticeable increase in power with boost to 18-19psi.
If...
Does anyone have easy access to a V100 speedometer drive gear? Maybe a loose transmission sitting around?
My nos NPG 542 is missing the speedometer drive gear (aka pencil gear) and its adapter (the small collar that holds it in/ cable hooks to). I need to know the tooth count for accurate...
No, I was being mean.
Pretty obvious if you want to improve performance you need to change things, A/F ratio included. If you had extra fuel before then add a turbo you might have to cut fuel back (like my deuce) to keep power and EGT under control. If you don't have extra fuel, like my 5T...
