Tried to charge up the two batteries as well as jumping the front one (worked when the top alternatro fell out on way back from Al.) The gauge inside the dash did not go above the yellow so I suspecth that the charging system is still having problems. I had both alternators checked out and the...
Tried to charge up both batteries today. As soon as the glow plugs started to heat up it seemed that the relay became too hot to touch. Is this normal? Kille the batteries at the same time.
Have a similar problem with my M1010. Drove it home from AL, ran great. Had problems with alternators, bottom one needed repair. Both batteries were checked out and found to be good. Can charge them up and put back into vehicle. Seems to have a fuel problem, listed under that thread. But...

Have a similar problem. Drove it home from AL in the spring and have been working on it (sort of, been rather busy with honey due things) over the summer and now want to get it on the road. replaced the fuel filter and the pressure switch and still seems not to get fuel. Should I break a line...
Put a fresh known good battery in place of the one that has not been charged good. Checked the positions of the light switches and they were ok. Checked the voltage at the glow plug lines and it was 0. Still no lights at all. Think now that there may be fuseable link that feeds the fuse...
will check the light switch positions as soon as I get home today. The engine did crank real good while I had it hooked up to my car with jumpercables. Glow plug light went out after about 45 seconds but still did not start the engine. Will check the glow plug wires too.
Thanks for you help
My son is near Statesville and the mother in law is in Morganton.
Have a major problem and do not know how to proceed. Had the problem with the front battery not charging. Had a burned out fuseable link. Fixed that the seems now that there is no electric at all, no lights nothing. Starter...
Yep, I agree once you come up on frequency everyone can check out your profile anyway. Planning on putting a screwdriver antenna on my M1010 for the times that I have the HF in it.
Water In Fuel Indicator
Thanks Jim,
Found the manual version to drain the filter right after posting before. Just waiting for it to stop raining cats and dogs and will go see if it works. Do not mind being hit by the cats but the large dogs tend to hurt.

Side plates
Hey Smokeydod,
made it home to TN from south AL yesterday. How thick is the aluminum plates? Would probably be just as easy to pick up some aluminum locally and fabricate them.
Thanks
Tom
Water in fuel indicator
On the same line I have a good question. Can the water in fuel light come on for any other reason besides water in the fuel? We ran my 1010 about half way from Alabama to TN running two tanks of fuel through it and the water in fuel light came on. Do not think that...
Hope to pick up our M1010 this weekend. Does anyone know what the possibility of finding the placards for one? If not is there any where to find dimensional drawings to make some up?
