So wait a second WM, do you mean with all your famous talking skills you have totally failed to convince Drew, that he absolutely needed that ISO bed for his SEMTT?!?!
This is really almost borderline "somewhat disappointing"......Not sure what to say here..... lol
More FEMTT Work.....
So you guys are probably getting pretty tired of "FEMTT at work" pics, but here are a few more anyway....lol
I have to say though, that even I am starting to be impressed with the FEMTT's performance at this point. We really put it to the test today by loading it down with...

Well, I'm working on the fifth wheel module as we speak....I guess I will have to take some pics for you..... lol
Yeah....we thought the same thing! Luckily we only hauled it off road up to the mountain...not sure what the DOT would have said about this load.....lol

Thank you! I'm glad you like the thread.
The twist lock connectors are from a company named 'Chassis King'. Here is a link: www.chassisking.com › Parts

FEMTT Video
Here is a short video of the FEMTT at the last, sharp curve, getting to the top of "Rabbit Peak" in northern New Mexico:

Well, I have to say that the FEMTT is way superior to the M920A1. This is mostly because of the pusher axle on the M920, that high centers the truck even on relatively small humps! Since it is not a powered axle, it is a major handicap of that truck over 8x8 or 6x6 configurations.
Also, the...
Thanks to all!
Yes, the bed definately needs top boards. Speaking of trailer; I even thought about building a "module trailer", that has the same twist lock attachments as the FEMTT and could be pulled by it. That way I can take an extra module if necessary.
So today, I have to transport two 52...
The FEMTT at work....
Well, I finally got to try the new dump bed module for an actual job and it did awesome!
I hauled a total of almost 50 tons of road base to the top of 9100 foot tall Rabbit Peak antenna site. This is part of a new Verizon cell tower that is being constructed there. It...
Inside The FEMTT Toolbox....
Here are the promised pics of the "top secret" inside of the FEMTT toolbox....lol
I do use a product called 'Dry-Deck' that consists of interlocking 12" squares, as the bottom liner in all my toolboxes now. It keeps things from sliding around without trapping...
The current chassis "curb weight" (all fluids topped off, full of fuel and including the driver) of the FEMTT without a module, is 32,760 pounds. This increase is mostly due to the very heavy knuckle boom crane!
The M916 chassis is rated at a GVWR of 56,000 pounds. So that leaves me with a...
The FEMTT Finally Gets A Toolbox!
I finally got one of the two tool boxes mounted on the FEMTT! It was getting pretty old to keep all the slings and straps in the passenger side floor board!
For mounting it, I opted for fabricating a bracket that I welded to the left side of the crane mount...
12V for the dash lights. They can be dimmed or turned off at the dimmer wheel, but if you have them on a setting other then "off" they should turn on and off with the headlight switch!

Thank you Sir! You guys are really going to give me the big head!
I do really believe in your quote of Antoine de Saint-Exupery and I try to adhere to it wherever I can. Not that I'm achieving "perfection", but I will always strive for it.....lol
