That's a great idea! We looked at a nearby truck with a platform with stairs but yours is much better. We have found in the "perfect storm" and Hurricane Sandy that a lift gate allows us to back into deep water right up to cars or steps and load and lift people directly. It works great for non...
Researching this vehicle shows fording depth of 30" about for 15 minutes without "major service" Do any of you veterans have real world experience with this "service" ? What does it entail?
I have not been able to find details in any TM. . We plan to add military fording kit and raised...
Update: truck has returned and is back in service with no leaks. I'm not sure how it was fixed but one of our guys went out to see it and It seems that there were some "mistakes made" by a younger mechanic, unfamiliar with the vehicle. So far , so good but we'll keep an eye on it. Thanks to all...
Has anyone had issues with the wrong axel/wheel seal part number or conflicting part numbers on this truck? Our FD 5 ton has been in shop for over six weeks with a rear wheel seal issue. The guy claims he installed new seals which still leak. Apparently, another shop around 2012 had the exact...

26-7/8" x 16-5/8" a 1/4 " thk. Clear laminated glass with dot engravings.
Delivery was about 8 days or so...
It's funny.... When I looked this morning, there it was just as your picture shows. I have to get a 1/2" square drive wrench to keep in the tool kit to switch it when required ,or put the valve in as mentioned. The never seize is a good idea since it can be exposed to salt water. They drove...
Hello, we have an M813 5 ton at our volunteer F.D. We use it for high water storm work in both salt and fresh water. The "fording plug" seems to be missing from the bell housing. Does anyone know the size of that plug or bolt.? I suspect it has been gone since we got the truck, USAF surplus...
