i second the sears. sealed gel,930 cca each.thats the biggest that would fit the tray. truck had optimas, but when truck was stolen they took'em. after looking for replacements/reading reviews, I went with die hards. i like sealed units,less or no corrosion. batt trays still look great after 24 yrs.
i have the 4wd version.after it was stolen/recovered.I had the truck delivered 30 miles with roll back truck. all over the phone cause of work. i get home finally. he let the arse end hang off the roll back,drive line bent in middle up to the frame. get it in writing !
I did the three tank trick on mine. 88 v3500 crew from air force. I to was sick of passing up goood prices on fuel. came with the dual 20's. i put the 32 gal from a diesel suburban in,for 72 total. I put it in with the box on and without major mods. the rear lip of the tank sat on the front edge...
loud! i had glasspacks on my cucv, going over snoqualmie pass my wife witnessed the two people in the car next to us holding fingers in ears. before i had the packs put on,i ran a test for about eighty miles on highway 395. drove to job sight, cut mufflers out entirely. not bad with no load...
