I'm thinking about how to air condition the cab. It gets hot here in SoCal. OEM style engine driven compressor? Or mini split for truck cabs? Or roof mount like RV? If OEM style, where do I get the cab control panel and radiator? I see a compressor kit on ebay, but I haven't found the cab...
Purchased on Ebay and the listing said: "new old stock gov surplus GENUINE Spicer CTIS wheel valve with hoses" . The seller gets very good reviews, so I believe I've bought Spicer CTIS wheel valves
So I got the CTIS wheel valve assembly installed. The O-Ring in the elbow is obvious now, but before I understood it was there it felt as if the threads were not mating properly, like a cross thread or wrong thread pitch. Thanks to advice from the General, I got it on.
I'd be lost without the...
The old valve stem does not have that smooth section above the threads and it threads easily into the elbow, the new one does not.
I installed a valve core and partially inflated the tire t about 30 pounds. Then I was going to attach the CTIS wheel valve. I guess that was the wrong...
I ordered the valve stems and installed one on a tire I built up yesterday. Unfortunately the CTIS elbow doesn't screw onto these valve stems. It seems to be a different thread pitch. They also have a long unthreaded section above the thread, which makes it hard to clamp the air chuck onto...
Thanks for the details. I'll look at all of that when I can. Today was my last day working on the truck for 8 or 10 days. I'm off to Las Vegas for a trade show.
Today I removed the hydraulic lines from the manifold to the AOP and the Spare Tire carrier. Then I mounted a tire on a rim...
I'm thinking to delete the manifold box, but I don't understand it yet. There is obviously an air connection from the manifold box to the cab airbags. If I delete the manifold box, how do the cab airbags get air?
There seem to be air bags on the chassis as well as on the cab or at least there...
Thanks for the hint about Tractor Supply.
If someone could point me to a schematic of the hydraulic and air hoses at/from what I'll call the cab raise manifold, I'll be grateful. I've been searching for it in the TMs, without luck so far. Probably I don't know what to properly call it, so I...
I certainly get the 7 year limit. I want the tires off my rig at 7 years.
Chassis life is 35K? Does that mean the military won't run the trucks more than 35K? I certainly hope to put 100K on the truck myself . . . hope it doesn't die at 35K.
I very much appreciate your wisdom.
I'll be doing the tires without balancing beads. At first I'll be driving without any load on the rear and as reported elsewhere, probably bouncing a lot anyway. I'll get the hab on someday and then when I have some weight on the rear, think about...
I spent another happy hour scrubbing mud today. The three seats are out. The storage boxes are out and the M-16 mounts are out of the cab
Now to finish getting the mud out of her . . . lots and lots of mud
I've got the Milton from Amazon. I'll fill two tires and see how it goes. The next 4 tires will arrive in the middle of April. I've paid for them already, but I'll be in Las Vegas for a week at a trade show. I don't go there for fun, so I've delayed delivery until the middle of April.
3rd...
I'm suitably chastised . . . I'll ask more in the future . . . I really do appreciate the help I'm getting here.
I did purchase a Milton:

$93 on Amazon
I'm a very new owner of an M1088A1 with a 3126. I'm just learning about HEUI pumps here and online, youtube, etc.
HEUI failures mentioned here on SS concern me.
What do you guys think about:
The NEW GEN 2 IFS Kit

If I understand it correctly, from this page...
I also got the glad hand air hose, I haven't tried it yet.
Thinking about safety, I bought an automatic inflater with a 6 foot hose. I won't walk away from the inflater, but I will be 6 feet from the sidewall.
I did a bit more cleanup today, installed some bolts to replace huck bolts and...
I couldn't move that cover with two hands. I put a pair of channel locks on it , rocked it a bit and it came loose. Now I can move it with one hand.
I managed to get one more bolt off the tire rack today. The remaining 3 bolts are very difficult to reach. I'll try again tomorrow
My valve...
I've tried pushing in . . . so far no luck
While I was in the area, I just spent a fascinating half hour scraping mud out from under the dash. Where was the private with a toothbrush on a punishment detail? Apparently not on my truck
