Hi all I’m looking at an M59 to buy and I I’m new to armor. What should be looking out for? I’ve looked at it twice and been in it. The tracks look good and it’s pretty complete. It is missing one engine but I’m familiar with the gmc302 and the hyramatic and have those parts. What do I need to...
I’m about 3.5 hours east of Des Moines. There are several of these G749s scattered around the country side that I’ve found just rotting away. You probably have more parts opportunities then you know. Just get the word out. You never know what people have sitting on the back 40.
You can get tractor drawbar pins in any size. They are hardened and have a hole for a safety pin. I think you need 7/8” if it hasn’t been worn out bigger.
I have towed them with my M816 without any problem. The best option is to pull all three drive shafts but it’s a pain in the butt. If the tires are aired up and you got oil in the diffs. With the tow bar It trails right behind the 5ton like nothing. However you want to do it the key is to...
Just got the bulkhead welded up and installed. I tried to follow the pictures I could find in the manuals but it ant gonna win any shows. It will do the job though. Now I can start hauling some rock.
Take it easy on the brake adjusters if the screw is rusted tight and you put a lot of force on it it wil strip the teeth off. I saw a m211 go up for sale not to far from you I wonder if it was the same one? Good luck.
Pulled this truck out of the weeds two years ago and started working on it last June. It had been left abandoned for decades. The engine was seized and ended up replacing it with a different 302, new wiring, brakes, fuel system, and a hole other mess of broken and stuck parts. Had good dry...
I use a m211 with a dump hoist under the bed for moving grain. It regularly scales out at about 36,000. So if you take care of the maintenance it’s a tuff truck
Just putting my mep003a away. Had an ice storm and high winds throughout this area. The genset ran 24hours non stop and powered the house and shop. We carried on without a problem while everyone else was scrambling.
I got a NOS one I’m not going to use. The only problem with it is the threads for the electrical connection are bad and need chased. Shoot me PM if interested.
Hi all, I’ve been wondering if you could use the bigger sized jets for the Gold Comet 331 on a Gmc 302? Would it produce more power, would it screw up the shifting of the auto, or would it cause other problems? Just got to looking at the two using the same carb and thinking. I know that the...
Hi all, I'm looking for cab protecter/bulkhead that bolts onto the front of the dump bed. Also has anybody got an idea if these beds were used on other types of trucks to try to look for parts on. Thanks for any help!
