My Super Singles, Michelin 14-20's do the same thing. Brought it to the local truck tire shop and they suggested re-groving them for $150.00 per tire, which would bring them back to new.
My guess is that the more I drive him, the uneven wearing will "may ", as the BBTB (Big Boy Toy Budget)...

IMHO ship it home, if you look at the cost and nerve racking hassle(s) of driving it back, shipping may be a good option. Check out the transportation forum and also U-Ship which I have had great luck with.
It appears to be a solid rod, tried drilling it out and my bit broke. I will have to find a piece of stock locally. Made a temporary fix. Also bought a complete set(4) of new mirrors for both sides on line, for less than $50, shipped. All the bolts and knuckles were rusted.
I have the same sound in my M931, but have found that adding about 6 oz of Walmart brand 2 cycle engine oil in the fuel tank works wonders. I have used it for years in all my diesel engines. Buy a gallon of it at Wally World.
Now that 95% of my mechanical issues are solved, I am starting bodywork and paint and painted the cab Desert Tan yesterday. This morning I wanted to remove the mirrors to paint them flat black and snap the rusted top nut that holds the vertical arm. Can't find a schematic on the mirror...
