I was really debating on converting my Cadillac engine to efi till I seen the price for the conversion kit to convert it over lol. I was looking at holley and Edelbrocks conversion kits. But I guess for that price I'll just keep the carb lol
well i want it to have the period correct door panels and interior the actual canadian 5/4 tons had. and the doors it has are in very bad shape (they came off of a 1984 chevy c30 that was abused and neglected for some time. if you look closely at the passenger side the giant mirror it had at one...
Hey seen your post on my 76 Canadian 5/4 ton project. That truck of yours is looking great. That era of 454 is a good choice cause of the free"er" flowing heads. I'm really torn between the choice of converting my 76 to a automatic or keeping it a 4 speed. The military truck I'm cloning it after...
Thank you. I hope it turns out to be a pretty cool build. I was also told it's a relatively low mileage engine as well. I'm planning on putting a mild cam and headers on it.
It was in the truck when I got it. I plan on keeping that engine in the truck to kinda add a little bif of a twist to the clone. Not many people do Cadillac swaps.
parts I will need to find
76 chevy front clip
76 chevy truck doors
76 chevy truck grille
Camel 76 chevy truck interior
Military cucv grille guard
Blackout light switch
Blackout lights
Olive drab,black,and green paint
Then for my personal touches
Steel flatbed
Dually rear wheels
Hey guys I've been wanting a old Canadian 5/4 ton (1976 chevy 5/4 ton) for a long time now. I seen a photo of one on the internet and instantly fell in love with them. I have a 1976 chevy k20 that I plan to use as a candidate for the clone. It's been converted to have a 82 Chevy truck front clip...
Hey quick update. I picked up some bucket seats for a jeep. They were sitting in a older gentlemans barn. I pointed them out to him and told him I was wanting to clone a military truck. He gave them to me for free. They do need some cleaning but they are really close to the military truck seats...
Thanks for the info man. I'll keep this in mind when I start to build the clone. I'm on the search for a cheaper set of 76 chevy truck fenders and 76 doors
Well thank you for the reply. I figured I'd just make up some random number if I had to. I've heard of "89c" so I'm thinking a little more along the lines of "85f" if it isn't already used on one of the originals or someone's clone
