I believe the front passengers side glad hand is vented. the glad hand cover will have a little vent on it. it is different than all the other covers.
check that and see other threads that also talk about this exact thing
best wishes

seems like we are talking in circles here. PA seems to be very clear that antique plates on a truck, and the truck being used as an antique EXEMPT you from needing a CDL of any type. Many states are not nearly that clear on this. So the OP wants to be "legal" - you have antique plates, use...
so what do they have to say about the antique vehicle status?
This information is on the PENNDOT web page:
"Commercial motor vehicle." A motor vehicle designed or used to transport passengers or property:
(1) if the vehicle has a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds or such...
i looked at the link that doghead posted and wondered about it. Here is what i did . On the injector pump there are what look like 2 adjustment screws with lock nuts on them. they are located above where the throttle shaft enters the body of the pump. I loosened up the "forward " screw/nut...
interesting thread. this is a murky issue for sure. just went through this in CT with my m817. temp plates had 22k light weight and 23k heavy weight because I was going to register it historic plates. The DMV underestood that and allowed the temp registration to be issued with these weights...
hi guys
I have looked at over 436 posts and still can not find exactly what I am looking for.
my question is about power steering box.
The TM 20 does not really go into the proper operation of the system, at least I don't see where it does. if some one can point me in the right...
I just went through this in CT and it was NOT as all the other posters are saying! CT uses a Q-1 form called a suplemental assignment of ownership form. What the DMV wants to see is a clear assignment of ownership. They were fine with the fact that someone had bought the truck from GL and...
seems to me that pick-up implies small truck. f650 and such are just " trucks" unless they are dump-trucks. does not seem like a big deal to just call it a "truck"
have my 5 ton registered in CT, but limits what you can do with it. In CT you are not allowed to carry things in the bed. so your home depot stuff would get you gigged. I think if you want to use it as you describe, you will end up commercial and a class b cdl
followed westech's recommendation and a world of difference in the pedal - as I said, they are just like my unimogs adjustment, except they dont have that nice window to check things. the bottom adjusters were pretty much on, but looks like all of the top ecentric (sp) adjusters were off...

sounds good. how about the location of the brake pedal when it is getting hard? is it at the top?
At any rate, I will be going around to check all 6 drums. I like the idea of the window to check things with. seems like a great idea.
thanks

ok guys
I can see you are experienced. you are right - read the manual. I just did that and see the adjustment you mention. they seem to be just like my unimogs. And they were - turn the nuts out to make contact ( the top ones), and the bottom ones dont matter, but I still remember - turn...
hi guys
where do you guys feel the pedal firm up on your 5 tons? my m817 stops fine - 50 mph I can lock up all the wheels. But it does not happen until 3/4 the way down on the pedal stroke. seems to far to me. I tried pumping the brakes up and the firmness is always at the same spot...
can you tell us where you got the xl's ? I run them on both of my unimogs and love the way they drive. I was thinking of putting them on my 817 but the 12.5's are a little too small. the 11's would be better. I did not know that they were available.
thanks
