mine started making noise, but only in the lower gears, then it started sounding like a small man with a hammer inside banging around in all of the gears, but it never failed to move the truck. my front input bearing froze up and fuzed itself to the case then broke itself off.

there is a photo thread on here of the last time the guys went. Some spots look to be a little tight. The main thing I would worry about is the 109 being top heavy.

I have made a couple of my own trails already, but lately the truck has been getting put to work moving stuff around my property, My next toy will be a bit smaller, I have been looking for a unimog 404 to play with on the trails, and I should have enough dough to pick one up in a month or so...
you dont need to drop the t-case, just clearence grind where it is hitting. I Lifted my M1008 12" and had to do the same. just alot more than what you will have to grind, Another fix is buying offset U-joints which will give you more room. Tom Woods makes some and they are bullet proof.
