Glad it all is OK! Did the same thing with mine when I first got it too. Took a bit to realize what had happened......
Do check those shaft bolts though as that was the first thing to cross my mind. I have retightened mine a number of times and the shaft was ready to fall out when I got the...
If I remember correctly when I rebuilt my deuce master cylinder it was 1-3/4" diameter.
In theory a second airpack and all the necessary lines to make two independent systems should work just fine. Is there enough air in the tanks for reserve running two airpacks though? That'd be my...
I picked up the Harbor Freight 3/4" impact made by CP several years ago. It was about $109 then, but it works well. It took a few lugnuts off the deuce that I couldn't break loose with a big bar standing on it. I don't use this gun every day, but it does get used hard when I do, and keeping it...
Last time I did that to a front axle it was in waist deep water and a little too much throttle application on a slick river rock! Then I had to winch out.
Did I mention this was in January in the mountains of Virginia?
Need a bit more info, but:
The clips may have come off the regulator to the frame.
The regulator gear may have no teeth left on it.
The crank handle splines may be worn out completely.
The glass may be non-existent.......
Other than the embittered, and pizzy old folks, we could learn a lot from that set.
I just lost a good friend last month at 84 years old. Fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Korea and Vietnam before retiring in '75, then having a second career until retiring in '89 and enjoying the years...
I often find that anytime you find yourself confronted by any law officer, it's just best to be very polite, courteous, and save any orating for the courtroom.
No details, no confessions and nothing other than general cooperation on the side of the road.......
A lot of fuel tank cleaning depends on what the actual problem is.
If it is dried, crusted and rotten fuel, then something of a solvent is the best thing. Carburetor cleaner (the real caustic stuff in a 5 gallon bucket) works for this to dissolve and remove the old fuel. Follow this with a...
My experience with K&N filters has been with motorcycles mostly and I can say a couple things:
They are generally so free flowing that most carbureted bikes won't even run without rejetting the carburetors. That to me isn't the drop-in performance they tout in their ads. Generall this is to...
Here in VA they do check tanks, but typically it is only commercial vehicles that they bother with. That isn't to say they couldn't or don't check any tank they suspect has something other than regular taxed diesel. Farm vehicles commercial haulers, large equipment that moves on the highway are...
My Father who was a Seargent inthe US Army in Lai Khe Vietnam in the 1st Infantry Division in 1969-70 and worked in the motor pool had this to say:
"We constantly had at least one or two trucks deadlined at any given time as far as deuce and a halfs were concerned. These were all the older...
Not sure what you mean by customer service here. It isn't that I don't want to help anyone, its that I don't want the risk of a lawsuit because suddenly someone else's bad decision is now my fault. That is the whole point, here. And for the record, I do understand customer service. Having been...
