    I have a correct m38 engine for sale. it is a flathead L-134 4 cly. Mine is apart and in dencent shape. Located in Northern NH. I also have other m38 parts I would sell.

    I would say it is a cj3a. The Frame makes it a 3a, the horns are different than 2a, also no pockets on the side for top bows like the 2a had.

    all m38a1's came with the f-head engine. The was the whole point behind the design was to fit the f-head.

    good luck with it and if you get it and need help I live in southern NH. I also have a flathead I can sell you, makes the jeep better. Big engines tend to break all the parts.

    Chassis on a flatfender jeep and a cj5 are not the same. they are not even the same between the 2a and 3a. The cj5 is longer, and has an inch longer wheel base.

    Wish I could have come. Not only was the jeep not running but I had to go up north to my parents house. If anybody wants to come, on wednesday nights in Hillsboro NH at the the high tide restraunt they have a cruise in. If you come in an antique they give you a ticket for half off your meal.
