I've seen a photo where the slave cable was wrapped around the grill guard on a M1031 Contact Maintenance CUCV. Maybe that's what the extra metal bits are for.

Until I get my M1028 "death wobble" issue resolved, I just anticipate it and try to stay out of the 30-45 mph zone. Abrupt breaking tends to initiate it too.

I just took photos. At the time I didn't have the means to salvage it. The junk man took it.

"Death Wobble": Driving, driving, driving (yeah look at me, pass me up, its a fake M-16), apply brakes, between 30-45 mph brakes feel mushy and truck pulls to right slightly. Then if braking increases, the truck frame fees like its articulating and the tires feel like they're riding on...

This might ease your shock.... my 1997 Corvette did the same thing while driving 60mph........POW!!!!!!! Smoke and oil and steam everywhere. Push rod busted a hole in the aluminum block. Only cost $7,600 since I didn't purchase an extended warranty. I used to have the fastest car on my route...
