I get 9' even to the top of my stack; removing the stack would only help about 2". Removing the stack and top would probably get you legal, but airing down the tires might be simpler. Are you sure the trailer deck height is 60"? Most of the newer "tall" straight deck trailers are only 54" tall.

How much space do you have between the seats? I have a folding jumpseat/console from an 02 Super Duty that could be made to work, if you have the room.

It would seem to me a much more versatile piece of equipment, if you have the time to dedicate to operating it, would be a Cat front end loader. I say versatile because a 980C model has a five cubic yard bucket, can easily lift 40K lbs, and can work for $150-$200 per hour loading dirt,gravel...

I was gonna suggeest he get with someone who is already set up with GL, and have them buy on his behalf. The learning curve with GL can be steep at times, especially when it comes to EUC's and home office personnel.
