Guyfang, Thanks for the reply on my questions pertaining to fuel hosing.
I am glad I was on the right track pertaining to replacement of the old hose and rebuilding the old fittings.
I have read many of your old posts dating back 5-6 years and always find a little something that I can use and...
Before you put new coolant in the unit I would flush out whole system and run a coolant cleaner for aluminum through system , flush out after you run at least two times plane h2o to get rig of any contamination.
Also for those of you that might be thinking of changing or not changing coolant ...
Will do and have done today:
cleaned the filters out, got as much trash , rust etc. out as possible, ran some new fuel in the unit with biocide and cleaner,
and ran it over an hour to heat it up.
Results of initial shake out: all fuel lines weeping and hard as a rock, put a wrench on all...
OK,
I have a (alz moment ) here on my part.
I was doing some more research and letting the cold and rain go away while waiting for the CRC to help loosen up the 3 phase switch.
While I was checking a couple of items with my meter inside the control box and I realized that I did not have the...
Just got home ,
tried to move the phase switch / (AC reconnection switch) locked up solid , I
will have to take off the cover and loosen the wafer switch nuts and spray as you stated.
Something to do tomorrow as I am running out of light this afternoon.
One thing at a time to get this back to...
I have intermittent voltage on 240 single phase voltage on L1:L0, I have full voltage on L3:L0, maybe a little over voltage , 138 volts.
On L1/L0 I will get a same reading as L3:L0 for about a 0.5 second them there is no reading at all I have jab quite hard on the posts to get voltage on...
Earlier ,around page 1,2,3 you posted some rust in your air-filter.
If you look on the outside of your air filter holder , under the top cap on the fuel filter side of the exterior air filter you will notice a slide that is used to reroute warm air in cold environments.
That push button sleeve...
Guyfang,
Thank you for the starter information,
By chance do you have any more "tid" bits of information like this hidden away that you could provide .
Also is there a repository of these corrective measures that you know of that can be searched for info like this.
that switch would make a good switch for the ground line on a generator that does dual duty in field and at the house.
For those wondering what I am talking about reference the sticky about wiring to a house.
Thanks for the pictures and the pipe size info.
I will keep the forum informed of my findings and progress.
Plan to do some minor modifications to sheet metal as well as piping to attenuate vibrations which exasperate noise. while these mods may only give a 1-2 db reduction it will be 1 02 db...
You are correct in that the majority of the noise comes from the engine itself, the cylinders , heads and the fan produce a majority of the noise , also the thickness of the sheet metal has a lot to do with reflective noise.
The fan system produces an unbelievable amount of noise as well as the...
Has anyone opened up a MeP003 muffler ? Is it just a can with 2 pipes going in and one pipe coming out or does it have baffles inside the can .
I am trying to decide if I am going to make a new muffler for mine or just keep what I have.
Thanks,
Ken
Why not just add the NATO single pin in parallel to the double pin , that way you are covered in either case for jumping off the unit.
Also you can use a computer plug in a box with a cover for charging , that way you could have female plug on the end of the charger unit which will not short out...
Go to tractor supply and get one or two of the horse stall rubber mats and attach to the top of the frame then place the generator on top , this will do two things for you , it will attenuate some low and high frequencies coming out of the generator through the bottom of the generator and it...
I am referring to the sheet metal around the top of the valve covers, so it is normal to have between 1/4---to 1/2 in of open area around the valve covers. I would have thought that there would have been a seal of some sort like rubberized cloth to prevent escaping air and force more air...
I have been reading and searching a lot about the 3a.
I have a some questions.
1. How much air flow should be coming around the sheet metal over the valve covers? I have about a 1/4-1/2 air gap around this area.
2. While there is mild corrosion on all of the electrical connectors, the unit...
