    nv4500 or 700r4?

It will be much more work and coin to change to a manual tranny. But, yes the nv4500 comes factory in one ton trucks, so buku beef. I'm not sure, but they should have similar overdrive ratios for max speed.

You know its a bad day when.

Looks just like the last Jeep NP231 I had the pleasure of working on. That used range fork only cost me about $30.

Mine had the pump bolts on the transmission backed half way out, they never touched the T.C. though, they loked very close. The tranny leaked from there, thats how I found out, maybe just in time.

    One stuck glow plug

I could only get 3 of mine out, the rest were swollen. I bought the tool, and they all came out, but it was still a battle. In your case Spoort, if you install the other 7 first, start the truck and drive it around until its nice and warm. This will help the swollen one bend and reform as you...

I didnt know where else to put this, military pickup question

Also, for future reference, check the GVW (gross vehicle weight) in the door jam. If it has a 8800# GVW, than it is a M1008. If it has a 9400# GVW, than it is a M1028.

I didnt know where else to put this, military pickup question

The simplicity of these trucks is also very important. Solid axles, leaf springs, no turbo, beefy frame. The 6.2 is no Duramax, but...
