42 days and counting. What plant do you work at, exbrown? I'm an RO at Surry. Can't wait to get my truck and replace my current avatar with one of me in my deuce.
Just an update, found a man who hauls vehicles a lot, w/ a 14K flatbed and a big dually to pull it/stop it with. While my deuce will be pushing the limit on his trailer, he is confident he will have no issues with it. Now just waiting on my EUC. Come on, BC, get off the dime!
hmmmmmmm, white smoke and it won't start. Sounds like a new pope has been elected and you've got engine problems. Just kidding. Sorry I can't help with the mechanical problems, but the white smoke/pope line was irresistible. Any chance you're getting coolant in the cylinders? That might be...
Could someone post the size of a deuce's battery box. I've used the search function, no results. I'm looking into making a platform to hold my new batteries, with tiedowns included, and rope handles to transport the platform.
Just an update. I got some emails from some co-workers in Richmond, offering contact info for hauling my deuce back. Responded but haven't heard anything for over a week. Talked today to a man my brother-in-law knows, who definitely has the equipment, but want to charge me $105/hr to get my...
When I was bidding on my truck, I was actually bidding on 2 trucks at the same time. I realized there was a possibility of actually winning both of them, and that I would be responsible for paying for and shipping/transporting both of them home. I may be a bit cynical, but I'm sure that there...
Check out the pictures of this guys pre-lube pump installation. He replaces that petcock with his supply line, and keeps the petcock for oil sampling.

So, JR, any issues getting your deuce titled. I'm waiting on my EUC to get through the process, then getting my SF-97and going to the DMV. I'd be interested in your experience getting it titled.
I have the same problem with a deuce I'm getting ready to pick up. Your pics could have been taken looking at my truck. I know I won't be able to work on it in the GL yard. I was told that when I load it up, the rear wheels are hard to turn (back end might have to be lifted). There is about...
Chris - The truck is a deuce, not sure of running condition. GL auction says is has a broken rear suspension link. I'm pretty confident I can change that out rather quickly. Brakes I'm not sure of, that's why I'm looking to tow/haul it home. This is my first truck, so I'm somewhat leery...
Looking for a better rate than the one I was quoted by GL recommended shipper. Truck is in Richmond, needs delivered to Hampton, VA (approximately 90 miles south on I-64 East). Time frame should be the end of October, assuming 45 days before I get my EUC back from BC.
I'll be there. Hope to see a lot of local MV'ers with their vehicles. Hopefully there will be at least one deuce and a half for me to crawl around and over and take some pictures of. I'm expecting to pick mine up from GL near the end of October.
A lot of good info, here's my $.02. Soak the broken off bolt/stud with a penetrant such as Kroil or PB blaster and let it soak overnight. If there is enough bolt/stud sticking out to get a pipe wrench on it, use that. If is broken off flush, use a extractor from a company called Greenlee...
Wonder how it "got there"? Thinkin someone just misplaced it? (naw, I don't think so!)
"Honey, have you seen my tank lately? I thought I left it behind the garage."
