Windshield mounted hook for the hood...

The windshield mounted hook, that holds the hood in the up position, was removed from my truck. I am trying to find a replacement that I can weld on. Has anyone ever heard of these being sold or reproduced by anyone? Thanks a bunch for any tips> Chris

    Pretty much done!

Finally got the .30 mounted and I'm about done. Still looking for a First Aid kit, and fire extinguisher. With my first military vehicle (any kind of vehicle) project behind me, I'm ready, I think, to start another one. I think I'll work on a WWII WC next time. I did want to thank everyone on...

    Finally got the gun mounted

Source for mount I bought the mount from the fella that makes them for BNG. He's a great guy and does wonderful work. If you need contact info, let me know and I'll give it to you. The pedestal for the M37 is quite tall - 48". You can buy tripod type support legs for it, but I didn't want to...

    M-37 vs M-37B1

M37 b1 That's right vydeucedriver. Mine is a 1953, all original, and the additional bolts, characteristic of the door mount, are present. But the spare is on the bed.

    Finally got the gun mounted

Finally got the .30 mounted. There's just something about having a gun on your truck! I was just hooking up the travel bar, and in 5 minutes would have backed out of the garage, but my wife came out to grab some laundry. She glanced at the gun and said "It's not going to fit through the garage...

    decals for ammo boxes

Thanks fellas. Yes, these decals simply have the same info that is found stenciled on all ammo cans, but they just stick on. They are for display. Since the 7.62 cans are almost identical to the older .30 cans, these stickers allow you to re-mark the newer cans for WWII / Korea display purposes...

    decals for ammo boxes

Good evening folks. I have a couple 7.62 ammo cans that I want to paint and convert to for use with the .30 on my truck. It seems like I've seen .30 and .50 cal. ammo can decals someplace, but I can't find them on the net or anywhere else right now. Does anybody have a lead on who might have...

Small riveted bracket on pass. side hood?

Thanks a ton Carter! That was incredibly helpful. I'm thinking maybe it was removed because it would interfere with the Wittenberg hardtop. I'll have to see if I can craft something. Thanks a ton for the pics and help.

Small riveted bracket on pass. side hood?

Thanks a bunch. I don't see a rod on mine. Is there a picture or diagram of this rod anywhere that you know of? I'd like to see one, so maybe I can work on a replacement. Thanks again for the help.

Small riveted bracket on pass. side hood?

On the passenger side of the hood, approx where the hood numbers go, there is a small bracket of some sort. It's about 1 3/4" long, 1/4" wide and is mounted at a slight diagonal angle. It's got one rivet on each end attaching it to the hood. It's flat on both ends but is formed into a "C" (open...

Which rear axle likes to break ?

The only rear axle I have broken, was the rear right (short). I usually start out in 2nd. But I was in first gear, making a 90 degree right turn, starting from a stop sign, which was on a slight incline. It was right when I first got the truck so maybe it was stressed already. Other than that...

    Should I buy this M37?

You might want to watch Ebay. There are always M37s on there, in various states - from pretty rough, to frame-off restorations that are factory new condition. You'll see some very clean M37s, for a little more than you'd pay for this one. I understand that location is everything, but they...

Good source for a military 16 inch rim?

I'm in Salem, Oregon. I've been trying to find a military 16" rim for a spare in my M-37. Has anyone found a good source for rims? I've been trying to avoid paying an arm and leg for shipping, but can't seem to find one lying around. When you don't need one, you can find'em on every trailer and...

    M37 hardtop question

Just wanted to say cudos to Lee!! I gave my friend the Wittenberg tip, and I'll be darned if he didn't find an ad from Wittenberg featuring this exact top. Thanks a million Rosco. You were right on. Chris

    M37 hardtop question

Thanks. But the Vintage Powerwagon top does not appear to have the ribbed configuration. That's the feature he's trying to find. So, if anybody knows where to find that exact top, please let me know. Chris
