Hey, I have finally been able to get back to Major Meltdown, I have the motor back in, and I don't have any fuel at the injectors. I have searched and searched on what to check, I have good flow through the filters, but I and very unfamiliar with the IP and where to start checking. Any help...
Hey, I am finally finding time to put my deuce back together after "Major Meltdown" and I cannot figure out where the main fuel lines go, one off of the primary filter I believe screws on to the bottom of the injection pump, and there is one that comes off of the drivers side frame rail that I...
Yeah, those corvettes ain't cheap! I just sold a set of tires to a customer yesterday....$2000 in Goodyear rubber...yikes! But that does ease the pain a bit...thanks! haha, sorry about your loss.
I plan on tearing the other engine down all of the way, it has not been run in probably 10 years, and the tag on it says the head gasket leaked after it being run for 30 minutes. The previous owner told me it was brand new, just had a bad head gasket...I want to go through it before I spend...
Hopefully in a few weeks, I am going to tear down my spare and inspect it before putting it in. Ya never know! I would hate to install it and find out that it has a major issue. So hopefully a few weeks depending on the condition of the replacement.
Time for the transplant Finally!
I finally got time, and motivation to start pulling the engine out of the deuce...4 months later, and a 95 degree day. Thanks you so very much to my brother and father for their help! I wouldn't have been able to have that thing out so quickly if they would...
I am in Lima, my deuce is currently down for the count, (at least for a couple more months) See: Major Meltdown thread. But feel free to send me a pm, stop down, or whatever. My insurance through progressive is $200 a year...not too bad. No questions asked, except for the VIN and how I will...
!!!!! Oh yeah!!!!!!! That reminds me! The weekend before this happened, I had left the accessory switch on.....everything is making sense now. The batteries were dead. So I charged them up, and when i tried to start it, the motor would crank maybe a quarter turn. So, I...
when i said roaring, i meant i could hear it running. and 1100rpm is roaring. I can hear that thing idle from where i was, so 1100 rpm is roaring from where i was at. not that it matters anyways. It didn't get louder before it blew. Sounded the same the whole time she was warmin up. im not...
Why would running the engine as 1100rpm be bad for it? It had warmed up for about 10 min before this occurred. The rpm never increased before when I left it to warm up. At least nothing more than a couple hundred. And thanks for those links for the TMs
Now that we have the name down, I think I am going to rent a bobcat to get the old engine out of Major Meltdown. Its only $150 bucks for a weekend, so I think that will be the way to go, when I get to that point. The spare engine is a White, and I plan on doing the tear down once i get my...
I plan on tearing the whole engine apart and going through the whole thing. I will get some pics up today. Will definetely have the machine shop look over the head(S). This is a blessing in disguise. I forgot to mention that I had planned on taking the deuce to pittsburgh 2 weeks after this...
I have finally stopped crying over my deuce, and decided to post what has happened to it. About 2 months ago, I was warming her up to go out for an evening drive, she was running a high idle, 1000rpm or so. I was letting the dogs out to do their business, deuce roaring in the background, and...
check everything. Do you have power to the pump? or the igniter? restricted injector nozzle? power to the switch or out of the switch? check resistance at the switch, and in all of your wiring. Check the spark plug for build up of carbon/dirt. What have you tried so far?
