Well my GTG just turned into fubar. I talked with Andy and it seemed like things were working, but the tire was not coming up. I took the CTIS hose off as he suggested and there was a schrader valve core all ready installed. So I started adding air into that one, everything was great until...
The steel protector is in the way and I can't exactly tell where it is leaking from. It seems like it is bypassing the tire all together, is there another location to manually inflate or am I at the right spot?
What is the procedure to manually inflate a front tire? I am trying to use the schrader valve on the outside of the tire, is there another way? The tire is holding air, but it is so low, I do not want to drive it around before adding air.
The air seems like it is hissing out right behind...
The CTIS is disconnected at the control box inside the cab, it was that way when I got the truck. I am trying to inflate the tire through the valve stem on the rim, all it does is hiss air out like I am using a blow gun. The schrader valve is working, the tire has been slowly loosing air and I...
I am having trouble with air leaking and it appears that it is the fan actuator/shutter valve. I took mine apart and cleaned it. When I was trying to disassemble it I was not sure how it all came apart, so I loosened the thermal probe nut (jam nut?) and then realized a good smack on the bench...
Do you have part numbers or at least what they are called? I have been searching the site and have not found them yet. Everything that I think they would be ends up being some obscure part.
I am really waiting to see how you do the fifth wheel module, hint, hint.
I would have never guessed a 5 speed auto was not an overdrive, it makes my trans swap an even better idea. Do you know what ratio the transfer case is? I thought I read that it was overdrive and then low, but I have not confirmed any ratios yet.
I will probably start looking for a 920 series, I really wanted to bob the 5 ton anyways. The funny thing is that I thought the 5 speed auto had overdrive, so when I change in the 6 speed it ends up with two overdrive gears. Reverse won't be as harsh on the transfer case either. I pulled the...
Soni,
What is the GVW difference between a 939 and your truck? After removing the tag axle, would they be similar? I do similar jobs, except I am on the opposite end of the country. I know Patracy has done one on an 939, but it seems that he is not using it for a primary work vehicle. There...
Between you and Soni, I have wasted most of my weekend dreaming. Now I want to make a "VEMTT" (Very Expandable Mobile Tower Truck). I build radio, television, and cellular towers, I just bought an M932A1 to make into a utility truck. Now that I have seen the versatility, I may just make one...
I just spent hours reading all 101 pages of this thread. Soni your truck is amazing. I just acquired an M931A2 and you are making me have crazy ideas. I am trying to make a utility truck and I was going to bob it, but now I don't know what I am going to do. I am absolutely interested in...
That would work. I am going to take a look at my civy 5.9, the replacement alternators seem to fit both motors. Maybe I can make something work from parts I have all ready.
Looking at the alternators that I would normally have, my guess would be that 100 AMP would be more than sufficient. I see they have output voltages of 12 volt and 15 volts, my normal 12 volt alternator would be about 14 volts, should I consider the 15 volt version?
