@Squibbly hey man, it’s been a while! I may or may not have the instructions for the glowplugcard from Hillbilly Wizard. I’ll have to take a look for it tomorrow and I’ll let you know.

Using a manual switch is nice if the card is bad or the system needs help once in a while to get going. It's very simple to do...just ground the wire and the relay turns on. Cards are out there still so you can get a good one.

...battery was not discharged much. They are working fine now....I am thinking the headlight switch cleared itself....??? I took the glowplugcard out and used a shot of either to get it running the first time as it had not been in I think about 10 years. Hind sight I should have flushed the...
I have repaired a glowplugcard my transistor failed when I connected it to a starter relay (ballast resistor bypass terminal) instead of the proper isolated ground relay.
A resistor doesn't normally fail. This one was likely connected in short circuit. It's possible replacing the resistor...
Hi Welpro,
Sorry for the "late reply", but from the figures I see on the little check card that comes with the Tach N Time, it appears that the transducer (pulse sensor) gets the injection signal about 8 degrees before the luminosity probe "sees" the ignition in the combustion chamber.
Given...
Good point. Glowplugs are button push. I have not verified if the glowplugcard is even still in the truck...
And yes, my plan is to continue tracing wires. And maybe replacing the alternator connector, just because. Once it stops raining...
Ok, I'll try and remember all the parts you got goin on! First that wire by the alternator goes to a sensor in the head that looks like it is plugged right now...very front side by the injector. I'll hunt that part number out. The wire running to the glowplug relay is interesting...comes from...
...last Saturday and fueled up! Might have put 15 miles on it cruising around the countryside.
My questions are:
1. How do I remove the glowplugcard under the dash? I removed the black cover and tried to pull it out gently, but didn't want to force it and possibly break some brittle old...
...issues yet under dash with rubbed or cut wires, etc.
Other than putting a manual push button momentary switch on the power to the glowplugcard so that it only gets power as long as the button is pressed (so I don't have to manual;y remove the card every time) I cannot find what is going...
Mine acts like that in the summer...it clicks on for about 15 seconds and the light goes out. Right now I am at 37 degrees so now the light stays on longer and once it starts I get a few after glows...I don't think the after glows happen over 70 degrees I think. If you used to get those I'd...
Hello!
I've recently noticed my glowplug system is behaving differently. Since my owenership I've replaced the controller card, relay, and all 8 plugs. Basically the stock system. It had been cycling on and off a few times when the truck started for years. Maybe 2-4 times depending on...
Have had some good progress on the 2nd 1009 the last week. Got wheels and a tail gate painted and tires installed. The spare tire mount installed and the tail gate bolted on. Inside looks really nice. The lizard skin noise control in the back and the heat in the front should make this one easy...
I need a 24volt starter, HD 100 watt alternator for the driver side. Maybe a glowplugcard? . everything is avail. new or old stock online but I'll consider your parts and would pay shipping. I'll have the Blazer in a week but I won't know how the wiring was altered. I did replace a positive...
...do that with the key on and off and see if there is a change as well. I think it would be very easy to do that at the glowplugcard since it's right there hanging under the dash. You can go off the pic you posted to find which wires they are...easier than going under the hood. Could be a...
I'd go after the temp sensor on the rear of the drivers side head. That's supposed to trigger the ground on the board to turn on the glows. Does it start after you jump the glowplug relay? I can only assume it's cold up there now and mine need glows at 50 degrees. Check the ground at the...
...The resistor on the firewall is probably disconnected or removed completely. I think with this hacked up wiring there is no use for a glowplugcard. That's why you have a manual glowplug button to ground the glowplugs for glowing. You can connect the manual button to the wait light but for...
...Purple wire in the diagram - is it supposed to be 12v or 24v with the key on?
Lastly: is there a method of troubleshooting the glowplugcard? Mine is the new one from Mr. Hillbilly.
Backstory: stock glowplug function existed before the transmission issues. truck has been sitting for a few...
Seems my resistor failed. 25.98 volts at the glowplug relay. Probably toasted a few plugs too.
Sad panda if the card is toast, it's a new one just over a year old.

I hear that completely!! I've got several spare ones that work but very old. I'd be upset if a new one got damaged! I'd check the resistor output and make sure it's at the 12 volts. I think the small wire that hooks up with the glowplug output goes to the card so over volts would be bad. I'd...
