A crayola crayon works just as good and lasts longer. Just steal it from the kids when they are not looking. They will go nuts looking for it and will keep them occupied just looking for it for the time it takes to do 1 tire. Just dont let them see you using it. Grab a different...
It worried me also, just measure and use a paint pen or white crayon and mark out the tire carefuly and treat each lug the same and you just about can't screw it up. Do one lug at a time one tire at a time and have fun. I cut my grooves the depth of my lugs don't cut too deep. You would be...
What ever you do remember to do each lug exactly the same so you don't throw off the balance of the tire. Make sure to have plenty of extra blades on hand and practice on an old tire. with the pattern I decided on it took me over an hour to do each tire, but it was well worth the effort. I used...
I grooved my tires for this past winter and the improvement in all kinds of weather was phenominal! The pattern I did was basicly a giant Y with a grove down the center of the Y. Kind of hard to explain without pictures and sincenopicsI guess this thread is worthless since I don't own a...
prep 1355,
As I found out you can groove the ndtcc tires and greatly improve traction. It made a world of difference in hard pack snow and ice along with wet conditions, they seem like different tires now. I am in Ober Indiana where are you?

Take a wheel cyl. in to NAPA and have them get you a ball type hone. the ball hones make a much nicer crosshatch pattern and are usualy a finer grit. I used to use them at the dealership, they are great.
Rob I dig the new avitar.

Another thing I wanted to mention if I were you I would check with your local L.E.A. and state police if putting the licence plate there is legal. I know Ill. (Chicago) gets pi$$y about such things.

Man that is one good looking truck. I dig the wood bed and color scheme. One question though how do you stay in the seat? If it were mine I would rotate the interior 90 degrees clockwise to make it more comfortable.

I used to be a line tech. for a Buick dealer. The only thing I have seen work is heat from a heat gun. And only 50% of the time, even the glass companys used to break them quite often. Lots of heat but be careful, and use a single edged razor blade to kind of cut the glue and gently pry up, a...
Actually it is still kind of true, to a point. If in a garage with high humidity and a cold floor will keep the battery cooler than ambient air temprature so much so that condensation occours on the battery and will allow current to flow and discharge the battery. I've had it happen to me.:doh...
I think what may be happening is the water is boiling localy and turning to steam around the heater element and slightly pressurizing the coolant system and with the contraction of hoses, block, waterpump etc. I have seen this before on a Buick Rivera when I was a dealership mechanic. What...
DeucesWild11,
She was half coyote and half pitbull and all chicken and gentle. She liked being in the garage working on things as much as me. I used to sell lease and service golfcarts and she could out sell me! She even turned the Key on and took off on one of my carts one time. It took 4 of us...
Look up Lock and Stitch in California I'll bet they could repair all of the dammage to the block. Might cost a small fortune though. But for cast iron repair their products can't be beat.

I don't know anyone who has ever used a cutting torch or welded who has not lit themselvs on fire! I had a dog (Maxine) who would let me know when I was on fire and after I put myself out she would just stand there shaking her head. She saw me running out of the garage in flames many...
Hi,
My name is Denny and I have been lurking here off and on for about 5 years. Finally in August I found a 1971 m35a2 w/w that runs like a champ and does not look to bad either so I decided to pull the trigger and get it.. The only thing that I can see is missing is the lower pass seat...
Do not use baby powder with tires and tubes! aua It is far to abrasive and will not allow proper movement between the tube and tire. Go to napa and buy the proper tire talc. The tires will run a few degrees cooler when heavily loaded also.

rmgill gave the best advice so far. Once you learn about them and drive one you will have a totaly different opinion, I guarantee it. As for putting any electronics in it rofl forget it unless they are waterproof. You'll be lucky to keep your own a$$ dry in the rain and that is with a good hard...
