I just replaced seals and bearings in one on my rears.
I took each wheel off then the hub.
Just as well as the bearings were bad and I needed to drive out the cups from the hub. No way I could have done that with the wheels still mounted to the hub.
I used Lucas Extreme Bearing Grease...

My FDC is bypassed, it's pretty simple to do and you can use my truck and 'copy'.
So far as better running, all rather subjective, lets get yours fixed and go on a nice long drive, these trucks need to be driven, blows the cobwebs out and burns off all the internal crud etc.

I don't think you FDC is bypassed, that can also leak and 'make oil', drain the sump, make sure you have a 10 gallon bucket as if its full with fuel a mess it will make! :drool:

I bought MassM35A2's Deuce and he fitted the Chinese HH, he bought 2 as the shipping was almsot the same for 2 as for 1 so he figured why not have a spare. The truck runs like a champ (now I am doomed!) so I have to say the HH is doing it's job.
Let's see how we do with Dave's truck...

Met with Dave last weekend, took my Deuce over to his house.
I happen to have a spare HH (Chinese), the same is in my truck, figured Dave could try a new HH if necessary...
Yes I watched the vid, I see what you mean, if the shutoff stops at the 6'oclock position, a) why, b) is 7'oclock the defacto open position for full fuel flow. Being relatively new to all this myself, enquiring minds need to know!

That is not the standard pump, looks like a retro fit of some kind.
Certainly not standard.

So happens TNJ Murray has them (alternators) on sale ending today, not cheap but cheaper so I orderd one, will get the current one rebuilt and have on hand as a spare.
