Alright, here's my problem. I bought this M1009 a little over a year ago and after driving it for about a month my trans went out and I had roller bearings pouring out of my transfer case. Luckily the man I bought it from was nice enough to give me a TC out of another 09 and I found the trans...
Well when getting fluid for it what do you ask for? Is it availabe at most parts stores? I'm having breaking issues muself at the moment that started right after I pretty much destroyed my right front hub. I rebuilt it but am still not having the same breaking power I used to.
I'm wondering if it's possible to put lift blocks for the front axle without issues on th 09. A buddy of mine has had 80's model chevy's and only used blocks on all 4 corners and never had a problem but I don't want me trying to be a bit cheap to ruin my truck. Anyone have any idea if this will...
Alright, I just had to disconnect my idle solenoid yesterday due to the fact it wasn't letting my engine idel down after acceleration and now today on my way home from work I was reading half on my fuel guage then it dropped below zero. I have a big trip to spring river planned for this weekend...
Honestly, with how old the motor mounts are I wouldn't use a t-case drop without changing them. A lot of stress is on them in the first place with how much vibration the engine emmits in the 1st place, you add the stress of a different angle than originally planned you may end up with failures...
Thank you, I'll be looking into replacing it and still replacing the mechanical as well. I just changed the filter the other day and the electric made it a breeze. Thank you for your input, I should be doing this within the next week or 2. Working 60 hours a week with a young son makes it hard...
When I have the pump enguaged it humms. I can her it in the cab when the truck isn't running. The electric pump also is mounted in the engine bay, not right off the tank like I see most every other one. When I replace the electric pump, should I relocate it further back?
It turns out I was wrong about the water seperator. I'm used to running across new diesels, this is my first one more than 6 years old. Thank you for the clarification. I know it's rather complicated but I was just wondering if it was do-able. I'd just like to have a back up just in case the...
Well the electric pump is working fine, it's just the lines leaking I'm having an issue with at the moment. I just figured it may be better to have the mechanical in there and Y the line so if it were to fail then I could just open 2 valves and close 2, flip a switch, , then I could replace the...
What is the proper way to prime the lines after replacing the mechanical fuel pump? I'm also going to be replacing the water seperator wile I'm at it but I don't want to prime it incorrectly and end up causing more issues.
That's what I was afraid of. I don't mind doing the work or putting the money in a good truck like this, but this is starting to get a bit over what I expected to put in it. I payed $3,000 for it and since have put around $2,000 in the truck. And I havn't even gotten tires, lift, radio, or even...
That's what I think I'm going to do. Do you have a link on where I can get the mechanical pump for a good price? If not a part number would be great as well. Also, as far as priming the lines after getting the new pump in, how would I go about doing that? From what I hear it's rather expensive...
I guess I should apreciate your helpfulness but to be honest I'm not sure how to put pics up anywhere. I'm not very computer savvy, but I will try to get some photos up.
