With a good service manual for the transmission I would think anybody with general mechanical skills and access to any necessary equipment should be able to service it. I have not seen the TMs or worked on this transmission so I couldn't say if the TMs are what I would consider good service...
Adding a second normally closed momentary push button switch in the latching circuit would deactivate the overide relay without the need to cycle power.
I was thinking, you could have the best of both worlds by splicing a grounded switch to wire 584 for an added "Parking Brake Buzzer Overide" function. Switch it on when parked for long periods and off during normal operation. Splicing into the wire in the dash would make a great place for the...
Applying the brake opens the switch. Releasing the brake closes the switch. This is known as a normally closed circuit whch is common in safety circuits. When a wire breaks or contact fails the alarm sounds until it is solved is the reason for the seemingly backwards design. Connect wire 584...
I have read some technical material that explains what happens when disconnecting a battery from an externally excited alternator while it is still spinning. It is explained that the output voltage spikes very high as 74M35A2 mentioned in a recent post. This stresses the rectifying diodes...
Gotcha Steve. The pulley was one the local shop had laying around, no package or markings. I have yet to install it and will collect some dimensional info as well as confirm the results to post soon.
Steve, using the stock pulley drilled out would still leave me with no charging at idle like you are experiencing. More reason to get a smaller diameter pulley that fits the shaft. Not charging at idle may put more load on the alternator when at higher RPMs trying to top off batteries that...
Mine is a clone branded WAI and is 65A 24V. I got it from a local shop for $165. Probly paid too much but I figure having a local person to deal with if there are problems is worth paying for. The alternator will not charge at all using the stock pulley at idle as the RPM's are to low. The...
I just put a 27SI on my NHC250. The stock pulley didn't fit the shaft, went with a slightly smaller pulley diameter for the alternator to excite at idle.
Try perusing the manuals here, they will probably explain it early on in general terms.

I'd beware the $29 drones, you'll get $29 aeronautical performance. The range on mine is measured in thousands of meters and if I set the controller down it will hover in one spot until I pick it up again.
