I just turboed my m925a1 and I used a bigcam aftercooler and crossover pipe. I saw 300 degree drops in egts and that's with the probe in cylinder 6. That's with no core in the aftercooler as well. I saw 12lbs of boost peak. With 12lbs there's not enough boost to cause big issues with intake...
I haven't called cummins directly. Alot on here say 200 to 210 is max. I haven't driven the truck since the pressure gauge installed yesterday due to the cold and crap on the roads. Im running a #27 fuel button. Pump rebuilt by premco. 10% over injectors arent installed yet. Even with...
The needle valve is a micro valve. It's not like a standard ball valve and lets only a tiny bit through. There could be some changes but it's designed to be very accurate. It also increases efficiency and safety. The valve can suppport 1500psi.
It wont change the pumps pressure, the pump...
I did the fuel pressure gauge install today. Bought a 2 5/8" autometer gauge to match my other gauges. Gauge went to 400 psi. To match my other auotmeter gauges I had to pick 200 or 400. Decided if I do turn the fuel up and I was to get over 200 I wouldn't be able to monitor it with the...
I ordered the fuel pressure gauge and a needle valve. I'll use the 1/8" npt port on the solenoid. This way if I decide to up pressure I can do so safely.
Im using pfte -4an line. Should have more photos soon.
Put plugs in the intake where the original sensors went and used red rtv. Primed and used a self-etching primer.
Followed up with using a high temp flat black paint. I also bought a pressure gauge to monitor fuel pressure with a needle valve. In case I decided to increase the fuel down...
Decided to go in a different direction. Decided that I want to run an intercooler. I was given the crossover pipe and aftercooler. I didnt want to buy a new core for the aftercooler. I Was concerned if I have a failure down the road, the coolant could dump into the engine causing a failure...
My 2 year old nephew came down to do a gift exchange and he wanted to take the "big truck" out. High of 10 degrees. Boost weather. Truck did great. At 2000rpms I saw 11 to 12lbs of boost. No issues.
If your heater has a small leak, You will want to get a new core sooner than later, when it decides to fail you'll have a nice clean up to take care of. Nice Truck!
Got the last set of armor lights installed and wired up. Bottom set comes on a switch. The top ones come on with the high beams. With just the fogs I have 8000+lumens, not including high beams or ditch lights. Each fog is an aircraft landing bulb. Not too shabby. I used lamin-x yellow tint...
Finished wrapping the intake cross over tube with the gold wrap. I also got the ditch lights mounted. Will angle them after getting the truck outside to see where the lights are best utilized.
Got the tint for the other armor lights. Will mount and wire up tomorrow.
After some consideration I decided to change up the ditch lights. The bulbs are great but not being able to aim the lights is not helping with ditch lights. I thought there would be more residual light shining down on the ground but turns out there's not as much as I hoped for.
I've decided to...
First test drive! Long time coming. Couldn't wait to get it out and see what Brutus can do. Took it nice and easy for a few miles to see how it all worked. So far I'm super impressed. I did notice a small power gain. I didnt do the injectors yet but there is a tiny bit of gain.
It's...
I decided to remove the ether water sensor on the water manifold to try and burp more air out of the system. I got a ton of air out. Since I disconnected the ether, I decided to remove it entirely and put a 3/8" npt pipe plug in. Was able to add some coolant directly into the water manifold...
Got the truck fired up and started trying to burp the air out of it. Used the petcock on the heater core for some of it. Didn't realize how much air this thing traps. Here's a video of some baby revs of the engine up to 1500 or 1700rpms. Nothing crazy but I wanted to hear her whistle.
I got the water pump in. The video shows the eccentric design in case someone here wants to see what it looks like and how you use the design to tension the belts.
