Just ordered the dyna beads directly. The instructions say 10 ounces per 37/12.5/r16.5. These things are not cheap. $147 with shipping, filtered valve cores and applicator.
Has anyone had experience with the 16.5 bead lock rims with 37” tires? Are balancing beads going to be required? If so, what is the best beads to help with balancing this combo?
Would running a non corrosion antifreeze in the tire a good or bad idea to help balance the tires and rims as a...

After talking with you awesome SS members and getting info from you much more knowledgeable gents then I and talking to the the Transmission Shop…
We have concluded that the TH400 is still good but the torque converter stall values are not correct for the 6.5 Optimizer...
Wow! Thanks for all the positive feedback gentlemen!😜 No need to stress!
I got the 700r4 pulled this last Friday and took it straight to the Transmission shop for a full rebuild.😎 They will put the best of the best parts in it and slap a 3 year, 36,000 warranty on it. Also new torque...
Quick update!
The remote oil cooler arrived!
Something I have always wanted for over 10 years and I am finally getting it! Trailworthyfab beadlocks with pvc inserts! Yep! They are on the way! The Antifreeze Green adds 5hp if yal did not know!
My first wife would have not approved on any of my...
The torque converter is the OEM Cucv that was mated to the OEM th400 and 6.2 diesel. I did not have any problems until I did the 6.5 swap. I read the stalls for the 6.5 vs 6.2 is different?
Right after I did the 6.5 Optimizer Swap the Th400 has been acting up.
From park to drive in order to get the transmission to engage, I have to rev up the motor.
Sometimes when in first or second gear, the transmission acts like it slips out of gear into neutral and then goes back into gear...
37/12.5/r16.5 New MTRs arrived today. My 10” wide 16.5 rims were too wide and every once and awhile a bead would come off with low tire pressure. So I plan on finding some OEM 16.5 rims for this set. This set will be my main off road set.
Today I picked up a set of 16/38.5/R16 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws with rims in exchange for my dry rotted, unevenly worn, with flat spots 37/12.5/R16.5 tires and rims+$500. Looks sexy. Wish they made more of these tires. I will use these for grocery shopping since I can’t get a spare.
I sold a mostly full used kit for $3000 with a banks turbo rebuild kit that is no longer available. The banks kits are worth a lot and are still the best turbo set you could get for a 6.2 and even a 6.5!
Also sold 2 partial Banks kits for $800-$1500.
Last I checked with Banks they still sell...
Sorry for the late reply. Looks like the Phantom 2 transmission sensor is located above the pan on the Th400. Currently with the trans cooler I just installed, the transmission temperatures are much cooler now.
Also these good big Optima Batteries are still up for sale. $350 each brand new and...
Unfortunately, while removing the grill and head light trim to install an oil cooler and trans cooler, the driver side blinker/marker casing came apart... The glue was too worn out...
The new LMC Truck hotness has arrived and as soon as he gave me the package, I installed them.
Also today...
I got the nice $10 junkyard transmission cooler on. It was super easy! I see a decrease of 20 degrees in the temp now. I feel good about it.
Also got the pyrometer working. One of the wires got disconnected somehow during install. I think I peaked it at 700 degrees climbing a 5% grade hill at...
