Interesting disaster experience in my M1009

A tornado just ripped through my town Friday night(APR 10) very close to my house. I, being the helpful type, jumped in the truck and went into an area that had significant damage to see if I could aid anybody that may need help. There was only one police cruiser and 1 firetruck on the scene...

    How are SF-97s currently moving?

When do they get their $60? I submitted mine a while back with my credit card info and still haven't seen the $60 charge. I figured they would go ahead and take my money first just like when I won the bid.

6.2 that has not been run in a long time. has a knock

My NG unit has a HMMWV that's had a knock that sounds like the piston will come through the block at anytime. We've been listening to that knock for about 5 years now. I've heard others that knock pretty bad and just keep going and going. It could be bad, but not neccassarily.

Anybody got an extra blackout drive light?

Somebody apparently snatched mine before I got it. I don't have to have it, but it's pretty much the only thing my truck is lacking from being 100%.

    Very successfull M1009 Recovery

I made my trek to Huntsville to pick up my M1009 from the NG armory, the Redstone GL and DRMO folks are all great folks to deal with and I've got nothing but good things to say about them. I trailered the vehicle back to east GA and to my dismay, I lost use of the trailer brake on the return...

Anybody got a trailer I can use for M1009 if needed(Redstone to Augusta, GA)

I'm looking at recovering my M1009 from the armory at Redstone early next week (3-22 or 3-23). From what I've gathered, it seems my truck may run well and I could drive it home. But we know how that works, don't we? I'm asking if anybody in the N. GA/ N. AL area may be willing to loan me a...

Another sucessful recovery (2 M35s) with lessons learned

Many military vehicles will get you wet in the rain. I had to haul 3 racks of M-16A2's from Augusta to an armory in west Atlanta in a HMMWV and ran into a bad storm just inside the perimeter. It rained so hard inside that I had to zip down the windows to let the rain out. It poured down my...

    Redstone Question

Alright. My EUC cleared today. I guess I can't complain(took around 10 days for my first one ever) Now, all my buds are too tied up to help me recover. I guess I'm going to get my wife to ride down there with me. I'm taking a tow bar with a 3500 Dodge Cummins company work truck. I hope...

Advice Buying 1st m1009 at gl auction

Oh, I'll be on here as soon as I find out I assure you. And yes, the Tide Nation is represented well even over here in east GA too. We even have Welcome to the Augusta Alabama Alumni Website right here in Augusta. I have a 90 acre family homestead down in rural Marengo Co.(south of...

Advice Buying 1st m1009 at gl auction

I just won my first about 10 days ago. I did mine without preview and realize it's like rolling the dice. I figured if this one isn't as good as I want, it can be my parts truck for the next one that I'll go into with more knowledge of the process. I just wanted to get my feet wet and get...

    March 13th Redstone Recovery

Okay. I may well take you up on the offer. The shortest route for me goes north of you through Rome, but Rockmart's not far out of the way at all. I figured they'd have keys since it's not posted as not having them. But like I said, I'm new to this.

    March 13th Redstone Recovery

I haven't gotten one myself just yet, but it seems that most folks are paying 1,800 to 2,700. I'm sure some with more knowledge can answer with more detail; that's just what I've observed in my short time paying attention.

Great question. I just realized that when I saw your post. If you're trucks are in a different location, then I guess my request wouldn't apply.

    March 13th Redstone Recovery

Not an A3, but if you wouldn't mind strolling over to the CUCV's, I purchased this one last week and only can go by what I've seen on GL so far. I'm curious as to the condition of the tires and such. If it appears that it can drive away, I'd prefer to do that if I could. I can see that it's...
