Here's a pic of the type work my guy can do. They are able to retain the military hose ends if you give them your old one which I was very interested in...so don't let the hose shop in your area tell you it can't be done...I'm still working on mapping the fuel lines out so a kit can be put...
Thanks...that's definitely a handy TBLSHOOT guide...I wish diagnosing these trucks was as cut and dried as these guides make it sound! The TM's do the same thing...does it work YES/NO...if Yes put it back in service...If NO report it to your supervisor...doesn't work well for our civilian...
I definately agree...slow computer issue is really slowing me down on perusing the TMs...When I get back to the truck I'm going to look at the governor pressure setting first, check the control line for blockage, and why the pneumatic controller under the winch handles is cycling...I definately...
That sounds like exactly what's happening! Thanks... Think I'm gonna replace the governor to make sure it's 100%, rebuild/repair the old one and have it as a spare...any recommendations on the best (latest) governor NSN, there seems to be several.
Still working on where to start for the heater...
Yeah it's a two fold problem but I was trying to list all the symptoms...the pressure gauges stay between 110-120. The valve under the winch handle cycles on and off while the CTIS HWY light is flashing and sometimes hangs a little before it closes. I'm sure it needs cleaning/replacing but the...
Installed a new dryer from suprman since RRAD was kind enough to paint over everything including the blow off and openings on my old one. Did some pre-intall testing and could not get a voltage reading on the dryer power lead from the truck(with the switches on :-))...it was obvious at GL...
I just saw this thread and would be glad to help if it's still needed. I have a M930A2 and can get you pics of whatever you need. I'm looking into the hose routing of the winch myself because my winch runs backwards from what it should... pull back is out push in is winch in...hoping its just a...
I'm working on a solution for the A2 crowd now. My truck is a M930A2 which has the duel tanks and I'm replacing all my fuel lines to prevent future problems. As I have the hose shop build each line they are mapping it out so they would be able to reproduce it by name...example (the passenger...
It sounds like it might be worth my while to come up there and register my M930 with your woman who seems to know whats up instead of re-inventing the wheel here in Burlington. What office did you go to?
Thanks for the thread and info excerpt...I'm hoping to register my M930A2 in the next month (when the SF97 gets here) and am trying to get educated before I go to DMV...any new info or insights to date?
P.S. your signature info is backwards (unless you meant Charlotte Canada, aayh!)
Yes it's the new M930A2 dump. It only has 36 miles since it was rebuilt at depot and I really hope there's not some huge reason why. The big question mark is what the heck happened to the roof? It currently has a desert tan soft top...Looks pretty weird on a green camo truck...Anyone need a...
Thanks for the insight...
That helps to know. It's funny I used to drive these around every now and then when I was in Combat Comm but that's been 91 or 92 when these were new. For some reason these little details are foggy 25 years later??? Over time Moss grows on everything including your mind...
Recovery-ATLANTA to NORTH CAROLINA WED/THURS 22nd. Anyone needs to ship anything?
I live in Burlington NC and will be heading to Atlanta Wed night/Thursday morning this week (22nd) to recover a M930a2. My aapointment at GL is 8am. Hope to be on the road by 9. Preflighting the truck takes...
Sir yes sir, got the M930A2. Talking to the yard now to schedule the load out. It should be an adventure but I'm hoping M_rphy doesnt call Shotgun on this ride. Am a little concerned about the dirt line on the front tires where you can see it had been flat...not happy with that on the front...
This thread is highly educational for me since I just won a 5 ton in Atlanta and will be running Americanweapon's route backwards headed up to NC. I'm new to SS but really appreciate all the info I've been able to gather in prep for the recovery.
