The inherent responsibility of ones actions is also what I am considering when doing something like what is suggested in the OP.
To each his own I suppose.
Guess you didnt see this banner just above your add.
When you move this to the classifieds area placing a price would be a good POA.
I might be interested in a set after knowing how much you want for a complete set.

Would I do it?
He11 no.
Follow this rule and you will be safe (pending nothing else is funky).
Do not tow a load that exceeds the weight or length of the towing vehicle.
In this case the M1008 is both heavier and longer than the M1009.
At the least use another M1008 or heavier...
I have a manual system for the glow plugs on 2 of my 3 CUCV's
It works great I just hold the button for a count of 5 or there abouts and then turn the key.
Will post pics of my setup tomorrow providing its not raining or snowing.
Ive been looking for a good prop valve, Have not found one that neets my requirements just yet.
I just saw the one JWNathan posted a link to and will be having a look at that.
I wanted to mount the prop valve in the transmission hump or behind the seat on the left side but that would...
Sorry that was a cheapshot.
My mechanical E Brake will either be a cable operated pinion brake or a brake mounted on the NP205 that is in my M1028 CUCV I have a Mico hydraulic parking brake setup until I find or build the E Brake that I have confidence in or build one myself.
GM used the...
Here is one pic.
I posted links to this same pic earlier in the thread I guess you need to be spoon fed.
They did address the E Brake when they put the K30 calibers on the rear with a different rotor.
More about that later.
Here is the link where I Pasted all of the part #'s.
This pretty much explains both how I built this conversion and the problems in using a 3/4T rotor in any build that uses a 1 ton rear hub.

The rotors and hubs...
My design works and it was given the thumbs up by 2 brake industry engineers one that works for Bendix in that capacity and the other that works for Bosch as a brake engineer.
The design that uses 3/4 Ton brake rotors IMO are what professionals called African engineered and has several faults...
I have two areas to have coverage,
IE I have property both in California and Northern Nevada.
At my California property I have farmers with liability coverage and comprehensive coverage as well on my M1008 and M1028 and at my northern Nevada property I have 1 operators policy on all of my...
See the thread I posted in a earlier post in this thread.
I used the K30 dually rotors for the reason that the stud holes could be drilled out to the correct size for the appropriate inference fit to mate with the stock studs.
Those who say it can't be done should not interrupt those who...
I used a std dana 60 single piston caliper but am thinking about using a 4 or 6 piston caliper from wilwood that will fit the dana 60 dualy rotor.
I posted links to pics of my 14 bolt conversion here.

I plan to...
While you have it apart you may want to think about replacing the turn signal switch as your at least half way there when you disassamble it to change out the lock cylinder. .
Here is another thing I have done with barrels to transfer fuel, this may or may not work for your needs.
Without cutting a hole or welding in anything just using the two threaded bungs at the top of the drum.
I used air pressure run through a regulator on the 3/4 inch bung to leave 2-3 PSI...
55 Gallon drums usually have 1, 2 inch threaded hole and 1, 3/4 inch threaded hole.
The threaded holes in the drums are pipe thread but most I have used are not standard tapered pipe thread they are what’s called straight thread.
They have the same thread count that NPT has but don’t have...
The CUCV's are great just like Hotwheels / Matchbox cars but for grown up kids.
Collect the whole series in all the different colors.
I have a few of the M1028's and one M1008 for now next Ill be getting a M1009 and then a M1031.
Kids be the first one on your block to have the whole set.
The M1010 came with (from what I understand) one 100A 24V Alternator and one 200A 24V alternator.
Here is a thread about such a M1010 Alt.

Here is a receiver mount for a standard pintle hook.
Pic at liink below and order info at 2nd link below.
If this does not do what you want and your saying you want to maintain the swivel capability of the M1008/ M1009 series pintle hook. I might have one of what you talk about. Here is a...
Here ya go.
ETA: I wasnt sure if you meant these BOL Head and Tail in the bumpers or the BO Headlight in the grill.
IF anyone needs a BO headlight I have at least one extra I would be willing to part with.
Actually they both have isolated grounds.
Its the way GM engineers figured out how to charge 2 12 volt batteries.
Are you are aware that the only part on the CUCV that is 24V is the starter?
This may be a valuable resource to you...
